SLEEPER

WR Mike Williams, Los Angeles Chargers: Williams was the most dominant receiver in college football in 2016, catching over 1300 yards and 11 TDs at Clemson. He dealt with back issues during his rookie year and finally appears healthy for the first time in a Chargers uniform. With Hunter Henry out for the season, the Chargers are going to rely on three-receiver sets more often, which should give Williams a ton of snaps. Watch him become a trusted target for Philip Rivers early on with the potential to have double-digit TDs.

BUST

WR Michael Crabtree, Baltimore Ravens: If I hear one more report about how good Joe Flacco looks this preseason I am going to scream. Flacco is on his way out in Baltimore, and the team is already figuring out ways to get rookie QB Lamar Jackson more involved in the offense. Flacco’s Yards Per Attempt last season was 5.7. This is an awful number which shows that the Ravens downfield passing games is in shambles. I think Crabtree’s numbers drop about 20% from where they were in Oakland. Caveat Emptor.

BREAKOUT

QB Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs are turning their franchise over to Mahomes this season, and I might do the same on my Fantasy teams. I love his fearless attitude, gun for an arm, and willingness to take risks to make big plays. The offensive skill players around him might be some of the best in football (Sammy Watkins as a WR2!). Mahomes will throw for 4000+ yards this year and 25+ TDs so long as Andy Reid doesn’t get in the way.

COMEBACK

QB Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts: This pick is almost too easy. Is there any player more valuable to his team than Luck? The Colts have a surprisingly good set of skill players. Marlon Mack, Nyheim Hines, TY Hilton, Eric Ebron, Jack Doyle, and many others will benefit greatly and become Fantasy relevant again with Luck’s return. I have him as my QB10-11 right now but will move him up considerably if he looks good in the preseason.

STASH & CASH

RB Kerryon Johnson, Detroit Lions: Alvin Kamara was buried third on the depth charts in New Orleans until the coaching staff realized that he was too good to keep off the field. I feel similarly about Johnson in Detroit. Blount might be the short yardage back and Riddick the obvious passing down back, but Johnson represents the best mix of both skills, and I think his talent will be so obvious that he will play extensively in the second half of the season.
