SLEEPER

TE O.J. Howard, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: I know Cameron Brate is there and he’s a trusted target. But, despite almost doubling up Howard on targets last year, they each ended up with 6 TDs. I think Howard gains more attention in 2018 and will take some snaps and targets away from Brate. Perhaps each gets 60 targets. Howard could do a lot with those targets. He could push for double-digit TDs, and if he keeps up his 16.6 yards/catch, he’ll flirt with starting tight end numbers available late in the draft.

BUST

WR Pierre Garcon, San Francisco 49ers: Garcon is five years removed from his 113-catch season with Mike Shanahan in Washington. He was the top target in his eight games he logged last year, but Goodwin emerged down the stretch with Garoppolo in at QB. Goodwin was more dynamic plus they’ve added some young weapons in Dante Pettis and Richie James Everyone averaged more yards/catch than Garcon last year at WR in SF. Plus Garcon wasn’t able to convert any of his targets for TDs. Look for a changing of the guard.

BREAKOUT

RB Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans: Overshadowed by Corey Davis, it was Taywan Taylor that made an impression last year. He no longer has Eric Decker or Douglas looming as competitors. He’s ahead of Tajae Sharp. Rishard Mathews is on the PUP with a mysterious injury. Look for Taylor to take the slot duty and run with it. His 28 targets and 14.4 yards per catch with 1 TD could triple this year. Taylor is relatively free in drafts, and he could be a guy who holds down one of your flex positions this yea

COMEBACK

WR Jamison Crowder, Washington Redskins: Crowder inexplicably didn’t follow through after his breakout season in 2016.  With an offseason to shake off his issues and with him developing chemistry with his new QB, look for Crowder to return to form and provide several weeks of starter performance for your team.

STASH & CASH

RB James White, New England Patriots: The Pats drafted Sony Michel in the first round, and Rex Burkhead is still there. However, Burkhead hasn’t been the most durable player, and Michel has fumble issues coming in as a rookie. I could certainly foresee a stretch where James White has a consistent role for this team. When he did last year, you could pencil in 15 fantasy points. Collect him late in drafts and deploy him when he gets his opportunity.
