2026 NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL GUIDE

San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Football Outlook 2026

Christian McCaffrey remains an elite overall pick, while Brock Purdy, Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel and De’Zhaun Stribling create several major draft-day decisions for 2026 fantasy managers.

49ers Fantasy Outlook Snapshot

The 49ers remain one of the most fantasy-relevant offenses in football, but this year’s draft room questions are sharper than usual. Do you fully trust the Brock Purdy-to-Mike Evans connection at its current cost? How much separation should there be between Deebo Samuel and De’Zhaun Stribling when their ADPs are nearly identical? And most importantly, how aggressively should fantasy managers continue to push Christian McCaffrey near the very top of drafts?

McCaffrey’s current high-stakes ADP sits around 7.67, which means some drafters are already letting Amon-Ra St. Brown and other elite wide receivers go ahead of him. Our projections do not agree with that approach. McCaffrey checks in with 374 fantasy points, ahead of every wide receiver in this range.

The age and injury risk are real. They always are with a veteran running back. But passing on McCaffrey for a wide receiver not named Ja’Marr Chase, Puka Nacua or Jaxon Smith-Njigba feels dicey. Per Ian Ritchie, former No. 1 ranked player in the world: “I don’t predict injuries, so I’m taking CMC No. 1.”

Christian McCaffrey: Still a 1.01 Candidate

McCaffrey should be the third running back off the board at worst, but the current market is letting several wide receivers slide ahead of him. That is understandable if the fear is age and injury risk. But the projection says he remains one of the most valuable players in all of fantasy football.

Our 2026 projection gives McCaffrey 277 carries, 1,161 rushing yards, 84 receptions, 725 receiving yards and 17 total touchdowns. That profile adds up to approximately 374 fantasy points, which keeps him firmly in the elite overall conversation.

Passing on him for a wide receiver not named Chase, Puka or JSN feels dicey. Even Amon-Ra going ahead of him in high-stakes drafts may be too conservative. If your draft room lets McCaffrey fall, the right response may be to stop overthinking it.

Brock Purdy to Mike Evans: Do You Trust It?

Mike Evans is the biggest new question in this passing game. The projection is strong: 72 receptions, 1,004 yards and nine touchdowns. That is classic Evans production, and San Francisco projects for 31 passing touchdowns as a team.

The debate is cost. Evans is going in the same general draft neighborhood as players like Marvin Harrison Jr., which means drafters have to decide whether they want the veteran touchdown profile attached to Purdy or the younger breakout bet elsewhere.

Purdy’s projection is efficient enough to support Evans, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle and the backs. He checks in at 3,948 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and 289 rushing yards. The real question is not whether the offense works. It is whether Evans can command enough weekly priority to justify the price.

Deebo Samuel vs. De’Zhaun Stribling

The current market has Deebo Samuel and De’Zhaun Stribling going in a very similar ADP range, but our projections are much higher on Deebo. That is the kind of split fantasy managers need to exploit.

Deebo is projected for 53 catches, 644 receiving yards, five receiving touchdowns, plus 41 rushing yards and another score. Stribling is projected for 24 catches, 310 yards and two touchdowns.

Stribling may be an exciting name, but Deebo still projects as the far more useful fantasy player in this offense. If the room is pricing them almost the same, we prefer the player with the clearer role and more ways to score.

George Kittle Remains a Premium Tight End

George Kittle continues to be a high-efficiency tight end attached to a strong offense. The projection lands at 59 receptions, 696 yards and six touchdowns, keeping him firmly in the weekly starter mix.

The challenge is that San Francisco has a lot of mouths to feed. Kittle’s ceiling games will remain exciting, but the addition of Evans and the continued McCaffrey receiving workload could create some week-to-week volatility.

Final 49ers Draft Strategy

The 49ers are a premium fantasy offense, but the market is creating several key decision points. McCaffrey remains a top-three overall player and can still be justified at 1.01. Evans is a touchdown-heavy veteran bet at a meaningful price. Deebo looks undervalued relative to Stribling. Kittle remains a premium tight end, while Purdy is the efficient engine holding the offense together.

The biggest mistake may be letting injury fear push you too far away from McCaffrey. If you do not predict injuries, as Ian Ritchie says, then CMC belongs in the conversation for the first overall pick.

49ers Draft Day Takeaway

  • Top Fantasy Target: Christian McCaffrey
  • Best Overall Pick Debate: CMC still belongs in the 1.01 conversation
  • Best WR Decision Point: Do you trust Brock Purdy to support Mike Evans at his draft cost?
  • Best Value Watch: Deebo Samuel over De’Zhaun Stribling at similar ADP
  • Premium Tight End: George Kittle remains a strong weekly starter, but target competition matters
  • Biggest Summer Question: Are drafters letting age and injury fear push Christian McCaffrey too far down draft boards?
