Week 5 Deep Sleepers: Jacksonville QB-RB Duo Have A Juicy Matchup

Senior Fantasy Football Expert Adam Ronis delves deep to find some Week 4 deep sleepers for you to consider as we inch closer to NFL Sunday!

QB Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars

Bortles can be erratic, and it has been evident the first four games. Bortles has passed for 176, 377, 155 and 388 yards. Bortles tends to pass more when Leonard Fournette is out and has a great matchup against the Chiefs, who have allowed the fifth-most Fantasy points to quarterbacks. They improved after Case Keenum failed to throw a touchdown last week, but Keenum has played awful since Week 1. Bortles is attempting 37.5 passes this season, compared to 32.7 last season.

RB Corey Grant, Jacksonville Jaguars

Grant was heavily involved in the offense when Leonard Fournette was out in Week 2. He played 30 snaps, rushing four times for 13 yards and caught six of seven targets for 56 yards. The next week with Fournette out against the Titans, Grant only had seven touches in an ugly 9-6 game. When Fournette has been out, Grant has played 39 percent of the snaps. The Chiefs have allowed the most Fantasy points to running backs, including four rushing touchdowns and 31 receptions and two receiving touchdowns to running backs.

RB Ty Montgomery, Green Bay Packers

The Packers are hurting at wide receiver. Randall Cobb has already been ruled out, and Geronimo Allison is questionable with a concussion and hamstring injury. Davante Adams popped up on the injury report Thursday with a calf injury and sounds like he will play. The next few receivers on the depth chart are all rookies. Montgomery can play receiver and could see more snaps in the slot this week.

WR Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans

Taylor is on the rise with Rishard Matthews released. There’s not much in the passing game for the Titans, which is why Corey Davis has a target share of more than 30 percent. The Titans aren’t using the tight end much and Taylor took advantage last week with nine targets, catching seven for 77 yards. Davis will draw the tougher matchup this week against Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White. Taylor is in a good spot this week and a cheap DFS play.

WR Mohamed Sanu, Atlanta Falcons

The Steelers-Falcons game has an over/under of 58, and with the way the defenses have played this season, it should be a high-scoring game and a popular one to attack in DFS. Sanu is second on the team in targets behind Julio Jones. Sanu has 24 targets, while Calvin Ridley has 21. Sanu doesn’t have a lot of upside but will get favorable coverage against a bad pass defense with Jones and Ridley getting so much attention. Sanu has 16 targets the last two weeks as injuries resulting in shootouts have decimated the Falcons defense. Sanu had six catches for 111 yards on nine targets last week.

TE Ricky Seals-Jones, Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals offense has been one of the worst in the NFL and Seals-Jones hasn’t put up big numbers. He scored a touchdown against a tough Bears defense in Week 3 and led the team in receiving yards last week with two catches for 52 yards on four targets. Tight end is ugly, and Seals-Jones has an excellent matchup. The 49ers have allowed a touchdown to a tight end in each game. Kyle Rudolph, Michael Roberts, Demetrius Harris, and Antonio Gates have scored on the 49ers.
