RISERS
WR Marquise Goodwin, San Francisco 49ers
Goodwin has been one of the biggest risers since the start of training camp. He was going in rounds 8-9 and currently has an ADP of 62 in the FFWC. Each day a new report praises how good Goodwin has looked. Goodwin had 56 catches for 962 yards and two touchdowns last season, but Goodwin finished strong with Jimmy Garoppolo at quarterback for five games. Pierre Garcon was injured and missed those games, but all reports indicate Goodwin is the top target for Garoppolo. Goodwin will be cheaper in your home leagues.
RB Kerryon Johnson, Detroit Lions
The concern for Johnson was his role. LeGarrette Blount was brought in to help a running game that has been putrid for years in Detroit. They haven’t had a 100-yard rusher since 2013. Theo Riddick has seen a steady role as the pass-catching back. That left Johnson being drafted in rounds 7-9. Johnson had seven carries for 34 yards and caught four passes for 33 yards in the preseason opener, including a few electric runs. One was a 57-yard run that was called back. Johnson has a FFWC ADP of 76 and has been going in that range in the last few drafts.

RB Royce Freeman, Denver Broncos
Freeman has an excellent opportunity to be the lead back and he will take it. Freeman was going in the fifth and sixth rounds before a good preseason showing on Saturday, including a touchdown where he showed good burst. Freeman is also rising due to the season-ending torn ACL to Derrius Guice, Sony Michel’s knee injury and Rashaad Penny’s finger injury. Freeman has an ADP of 46 in the FFWC.
QB Andrew Luck, Indianapolis Colts
All the reports over the last month have been positive on Luck. Many wanted to wait and see him in a game first and we did last week in the preseason opener. Luck has an ADP of 107 in the FFWC, but recently went 77. If Luck continues to progress, he could go as a Top 5 quarterback.

FALLERS
WR DeVante Parker, Miami Dolphins
Parker has a broken finger and could miss the start of the season. Parker had one touchdown and no 100-yard games last season. The fourth-year receiver has struggled in training camp, too. While a lot of targets have opened up with Jarvis Landry and 161 targets gone, Parker doesn’t seem like he will seize the opportunity. Take this Dolphins receiver instead.
RB Rashaad Penny, Seattle Seahawks
Penny will have surgery on a broken finger and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks. This is bad news for a rookie running back that needs the reps, especially in pass protection. Reports say he would have played if it was a playoff game. This may cause Penny to start slowly, but this is a buying opportunity. Penny will slip in drafts, so don’t dismiss him.
QB Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles
Wentz said it will be close as to whether he will start Week 1. He said coaches and doctors will have the final say. It’s not a big deal if he misses a week or two, but with quarterback being deep, I don’t see why you would take him as a Top 7 quarterback and he’s consistently going in that range.
WR Rishard Matthews, Tennessee Titans
Matthews is a good receiver, but there’s a mystery surrounding his injury and absence. He hasn’t practiced this summer and there’s no timetable for his return. Matthews was going in the 10-11th round and I can’t draft him at the moment. This is opening the door for Taywan Taylor and that’s why you need to draft him now, so get in a draft tonight while he’s still cheap by going to playffwc.com. I wrote about Taylor here last week.
