The Nationals made the biggest news of the weekend late Saturday night by calling up top prospect Juan Soto. The outfielder got the call officially Sunday after Howie Kendrick tore his right Achilles tendon. Soto is 19 years old and coming up from Double-A. He has a line of .362/.462/.757 with 14 home runs and 52 RBIs in 39 games across three levels. He will play every day and occasionally sit against some left-handers. He went for $235 in the 15-team Tout Wars mixed league draft and $412 in the 15-team Tout Wars auction league. He won’t be available in the NFBC until next weekend.
Brandon Belt is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, and he delivered again Sunday. He hit a three-run homer off left-hander Jake McGee to break a tie at 5 in the seventh inning to lift the Giants to a 9-5 win. Belt hit five home runs last week and is batting .313 with a .413 on-base percentage with 29 runs, 11 home runs and 28 RBIs.
After throwing 39 pitches in the first inning, Yu Darvish rebounded for one of his best starts of the year. He went six innings and allowed two hits, one run, three walks and struck out seven in a win over the Reds.
Shohei Ohtani allowed two runs over 7.2 innings and stuck out nine while allowing six hits and one walk. He is 4-1 with a 3.35 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 52:14 K:BB ratio in 40.1 innings. He is batting .321 with six home runs and 17 RBIs in 84 at-bats.
Blake Parker struck out two in a scoreless inning to get the save in a 5-2 win. He allowed one hit and had the job for a portion of last season. He seems to be the favorite for saves.
Jack Flaherty was dominant against the Phillies Sunday, striking out 13 in 7.2 innings for the win. He allowed one run, two hits and one walk. He has a 2.31 ERA and 1.03 WHIP.
Daniel Mengden threw seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits, one walk and struck out two in a win over the Blue Jays.
Andrew Benintendi went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer Sunday and also homered Saturday. He’s batting .285 with five home runs, 29 RBIs and eight stolen bases.
Eduardo Rodriguez struck out nine over 5.2 scoreless innings, allowing nine hits and no walks in a win over the Orioles.
Noah Syndergaard went seven innings and allowed six hits, one walk, one run and struck out seven in a win over the Diamondbacks. He has a 2.91 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.
Amed Rosario hit his first two home runs of the season Sunday in a 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
Mitch Haniger hit a game-tying two-run homer, his 11th, in the bottom of the ninth inning off Shane Greene. Francisco Liriano allowed one hit over eight scoreless innings in a no-decision.

The Pirates activated Josh Harrison from the DL and sent pitcher Nick Kingham to Triple-A. Kingham has pitched well, but the Pirates will go with Musgrove Friday. Harrison went 3-for-4 with an RBI in his return Sunday.
The Braves released Jose Bautista after he struggled at third base and batted .143 with a .250 on-base percentage. Johan Camargo will play third base.
The Indians called up Melky Cabrera from Triple-A, and he went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Sunday.
