Dr. Roto previews the 2018 Jacksonville Jaguars from a Fantasy Football perspective!

Outlook: The 2017 Jaguars had their first taste of a Super Bowl run in almost a decade. They got there by having a tremendous defense and a solid running game. Now they must figure out how to incorporate a better passing attack to complement their offense if they want to reach the Super Bowl. Can this happen? Yes, but only if the defense continues to play well, and Blake Bortles continues the maturation we saw last season.

QB: Admittedly, I hate Blake Bortles. That said, he surprised me by having a very solid season in 2017. He took a big step up under the direction of Doug Marrone and finally showed some confidence in his passing abilities. Bortles must continue to play within himself and not take too many chances. If he can continue to do that he will post respectable fantasy stats and help lead this team deep into the playoffs. I am not against taking Bortles as a QB2 in deep fantasy leagues; he might just be a sneaky surprise.

RB: I am a huge fan of Leonard Fournette. He’s extremely fast, runs hard, and has a nose for the end zone. He only played in 13 games last season and still had over 1000 yards rushing. If he could stay healthy for a full 16 games, there is no doubt that he could get about 1300 yards rushing. Fournette has lost 10 pounds in the offseason. He came in a little heavy last year, but now with a slimmed-down look, he should be even more effective. T.J. Yeldon will be the pass-catching back. He is effective out of the backfield and has surprisingly good hands. He may not get more than 100 carries, but he’s still a reasonably good player in PPR formats. Corey Grant will be the third running back. He’s very fast and could surprise if given the opportunity.
