Of course, the word sleeper itself is open to varying interpretations. As we defined in our 2022 Fulltime Fantasy staff predictions, a sleeper is a player who is being overlooked and will outperform his average draft position (ADP) in 2022.

Naturally, going ZERO-RB or starting RB heavy can greatly impact relative value. But regardless of your strategy, here are some of the 2022 fantasy football sleepers I’ll be targeting in drafts. Also, my Preseason Pro has other useful players that I’m taking a stand on.

Quarterbacks
Matt Ryan (Indianapolis Colts) – It’s not uncommon to see Matt Ryan fall outside of the top 20 quarterbacks drafted in 2022, but I think there’s a strong chance he not only rebounds but contends for QB1 numbers. Ryan’s streak of 10 consecutive seasons with 4000-plus yards ending last season- barely. But considering the sorry state of Atlanta’s skill-position players and 31st-ranked offensive line, his QB17 finish a year ago was admirable.
There are no real signs that Ryan’s overall play is descending and now he gets to play behind one of the league’s better front fives. Ryan also will have an elite running back, my favorite breakout wide receiver, and a head coach with a well-deserved reputation as a QB whisperer. Not only will Ryan exceed 4000 passing yards again, I believe he’ll be close to 30 touchdowns and contend for top-10 fantasy numbers…

There was a whirlwind of activity as NFL teams trimmed their rosters down to 53. Some of those trades and releases will impact our 2022 fantasy projections. After spending 10 hours tracking those cuts and adjusting our outlooks, I wanted to recap some of the fantasy-relevant outcomes.
Yesterday I kept the FullTiime Discord updated on the roster cuts. Here is a more detailed look at the fantasy impact of cut-down day.
Player Movement
Hundreds of players were released or sent to IR yesterday. Inevitably, many of those cuts impacted fantasy football teams that have already completed their drafts. Here are some of the fantasy-relevant players that were impacted this season.
Marlon Mack (RB) – The Houston Texans will surge forward with fourth-round rookie Dameon Pierce as their starter. Mack averaged a solid 4.3 yards per carry in the preseason but simply wasn’t as explosive as Pierce. Mack could wind up re-signing with the Texans and will resurface again in 2022 somewhere…

Now that fantasy football draft season is here, it’s time to look at different strategies. Contrarian approaches like #ZeroRB have a lot of traction and our 2022 Fantasy Football Zero-RB Targets can help identify mid-to-late round running backs to draft. […]
Although there is no definitive #ZeroRB rule, generally starting the draft focusing on elite wide receivers and tight ends while waiting until the middle of the draft at the earliest to address the backfield is the idea. Some drafters will take a running back before Round 5 in a modified Zero-RB, but we’ll focus on the former.
Here are some 2022 fantasy football Zero-RB targets to look for in the mid-to-late rounds of your draft. All ADP cited courtesy of FFWC high-stakes Advanced ADP.
Chase Edmonds (Miami Dolphins) ADP 70.5, (RB24)
There is a notable difference in Edmonds’s ADP in high-stakes leagues versus the consensus formats. That’s usually a good sign to target a player. As it stands, Chase Edmonds is the overwhelming favorite to be Miami’s main running back. He’s an excellent fit in the team’s new zone-blocking scheme and a trustworthy pass-catcher.
With the Cardinals last season, Edmonds saw 53 targets in 12 games and posted overall RB28 numbers in terms of fantasy points per game. Miami ranked 11th in plays per game in 2021 and should be even more potent with Tyreek Hill added to the fold. I view Edmonds as a quality weekly RB2 and a superb value in the sixth round.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Kansas City Chiefs) ADP 78, RB27
After two disappointing outings to open his career, fantasy managers are understandably off of CEH. In 2021, PFF ranked Edwards-Helaire as the 79th running back. He was even worse as a receiver and struggled mightily in short yardage. Still, new opportunities mean new value in 2022.
CEH has dominated first-team work throughout the preseason and should get plenty of opportunities in an offense that lost four of their top-6 target earners. What we do know is he can pass protect for Pat Mahomes. Plus, rumors persist that Ronald Jones may not even make the Chiefs’ opening day roster. At this point, Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s ADP has fallen so low that there is little downside to targeting him in the seventh or eighth round.
Dameon Pierce (Houston Texans) ADP 88.3, RB32
Pierce’s ADP has shot up multiple rounds due to his impressive preseason film and the lackluster showing for Marlon Mack. The veteran may be extended the starting courtesy in September, but it seems like only a matter of time before Pierce takes over Houston’s backfield. Pierce was PFF’s highest-graded runner in 2021 and ranked 6th as a pass-catcher. He also ranked top-5 in yards created and elusiveness. It looks like the Texans hit a home run with Pierce and fantasy managers are about to do the same.

Along with identifying 2022’s deep sleepers and fantasy football breakouts, loading up on late-round RB sleepers can make all the difference between drafting a contender and a championship-winning roster.
Using FFWC high-stakes ADP, here are the late-round RB sleepers to draft in 2022.
Rhamondre Stevenson (New England Patriots) ADP 94 (RB36) – Subscribing to the caveat of never trusting Bill Belichick, Rhamondre Stevenson has been one of the camp standouts. The sophomore running back has been taking first-team reps and has stood out as a receiver. Meanwhile, James White has no timetable for a return, freeing up those valuable targets for Stevenson. NBC’s Peter King thinks Stevenson will wrestle away RB1 duties from Damien Harris by mid-season. Harris is in the final year of his rookie deal and Belichick isn’t one to pay lucrative extensions when he has a cheaper replacement in-house. In the seven games last season that Stevenson got double-digit carries, he averaged 12.3 PPR points per game. Stevenson’s ADP is already on the rise but he’s still a solid value in the 9th round.

WR Skyy Moore (Kansas City Chiefs) ADP 91.2 (WR48) – The only concern for Moore coming out of Western Michigan was the level of competition. Moore was PFF’s No. 4-graded wideout in 2021 and led all receivers in missed tackles forced. So far, we’ve seen that transition over nicely into the pros. The second-round rookie has been turning heads and meshing well with QB Patrick Mahomes.
With Tyreek Hill now in Miami, the door is open for Moore to earn a substantial role right away in Kansas City. Indications are he may be doing just that. Moore’s inside/outside flexibility and run-after-catch ability make him an intriguing fantasy prospect in the 9th or 10th round.
Jalen Tolbert (Dallas Cowboys) ADP 108.3 (WR52) – Another Day Two rookie pass-catcher, Tolbert should have a clear path to a starting role right away in a Dallas offense that finished No. 1 in 2021. Michael Gallup has already stated he will not be ready when the season opens. Now, Tolbert’s main competition, James Washington, was just carted off the field with an apparent ankle/foot injury.
QB Dak Prescott supported a pair of top-27 PPR wide receivers last season, CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper. Now that Cooper resides in Cleveland, the door is open for Tolbert to command 80-plus targets in Year One. That makes him very undervalued at his current draft position.
D.J. Chark (Detroit Lions) ADP 130.4 (WR62) – Chark missed most of last season with an ankle injury. The good news there is…
