Thanksgiving is now behind us. However, the fantasy playoffs are now just a week or two away. The FullTime Fantasy Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 13 breaks down the fantasy and betting trends you need to know for Thursday’s AFC East grudge match.

In a rare coincidence, both of these teams played last Thursday. Buffalo beat Detroit in their second consecutive game at Ford Field. Meanwhile, the Patriots lost in Minnesota in last week’s TNF game.

This is the first of two meetings between these two AFC East contenders. The Bills head into Foxborough as 4-point favorites. And, the over/under sits at 43.5 points.

Advanced NFL Snap Counts Report From Week 12

Snap counts tell us who is playing but they don’t always paint a clear picture of who is producing for our fantasy football lineups. By digging deep into the NFL Snap Counts Report Week 12, we are able to pull […]

NFL Snap Counts Frequently Asked Questions

What are NFL snap counts?

Snap counts represent the total number of offensive plays a player participated in during a given week.

Why should I care about NFL snap counts?

The number of times a player is on the field for a player can be incredibly useful. It helps track usage, and how players are used and provide fantasy football managers with the ability to look beyond the usual on-field production by adding context to those more traditional statistics.

How are your NFL snap-count numbers compiled?

NFL snap counts are tracked by the NFL Game Statistics and Information System (GSIS). For the last two years, each player has had a chip inserted in his shoulder pads so that radio transmitters in stadiums can track his every move on the field. This is how the GSIS compiles snap counts (and other on-field information).

How can I use NFL snap counts to leverage my success in fantasy football?

Understanding playing time can be a key factor in setting your weekly lineup. In particular, understanding and identifying trends that might give you an early jump on acquiring free agents or making trades for players who might quietly be gaining playing time.

What are the possible drawbacks to using NFL snap counts as part of my fantasy football lineup strategy?

As FantasyPros recently noted, studying snap counts and the percentage of snaps played is one of the easiest ways that we can determine one of the most basic, but important questions for potential fantasy success: Is this player even on the field often enough to make a difference? That said, NFL snap counts only outline playing time, and being on the field is only the first step to fantasy relevance. It’s not the only step. Don’t emphasize snap counts over production.

The Snap Counts report and tool is invaluable in breaking down what’s happening behind the numbers.

The fantasy football playoffs are rapidly approaching. Securing late-season wins is crucial to enhancing your team’s chances of qualifying. Our Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 13 will identify which low-rostered players can help you this week and beyond.

Here are the top fantasy-relevant, low-rostered Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 13 free agents to target with FAAB recommendations. Also, keep in mind that a whopping six teams will be on bye next week. Be proactive.

Week 13 byes: Arizona, Carolina

FAAB denotes Free Agent Acquisition Budget

Gus Edwards (RB) Baltimore Ravens (20% FAAB) – Returning to the lineup, Edwards played double the snaps of Kenyan Drake and dwarfed all other Baltimore backs in touches. In 36 snaps, Edwards logged 16 carries, one target, and got the Ravens’ touchdown plunge. Although he won’t catch many balls and will lose some TD runs to Lamar Jackson, Edwards is the clear starter. At least he is until J.K. Dobbins (12% FAAB) returns. Rostered in just 40% of ESPN leagues, Edwards should be the top waiver priority for playoff contenders.

Treylon Burks (WR) Tennessee Titans (10%) – Rostered in under 40% of ESPN leagues, Burks should be the top priority for WR-needy fantasy rosters. On Sunday, Burks caught four balls for 70 yards and housed his first career TD. Granted, it was a fumble recovery, but Burks has made an impact in consecutive weeks. Moving forward, Burks should be considered a weekly WR3 with WR2 upside. The first rounder is worth a sizable FAAB bid.

Def vs WR Matchups Report

This Fantasy Football tool shows you how well (or how poorly) each pass defense is performing against each position this NFL season.

RECEIVING YARDS ALLOWED BY POSITION

This new featured tool displays how each defense performs against their opponent’s receiving yardage gained by position.

So for example, if you see a team is ranked 1st vs. WR #1, that defense is currently the best at limiting their opponent’s WR #1 yardage compared to other teams. Or if you see a team is ranked 32nd against WR #2, that defense is the worst against WR #2’s or more accurately, the defense is allowing the most yards to WR #2’s compared to the other teams in the league. This a great tool to find and exploit useful matchups. Don’t forget to check out all the positions as well (WR #1, WR #2, Other WRs, TE & RB).

It is Week 12 and that means a day filled with food, family, and fantasy football. This terrific Thursday gets capped off by an interesting battle between two playoff contenders. The FullTime Fantasy Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 12 breaks down the fantasy and betting trends you need to know.

Minnesota hit rock bottom last week by getting blown out at home. The Vikings hope they can rebound on a short rest week. But, things won’t be easy against a New England squad that is trending up.

The 8-2 Vikings are mere 2.5-point home favorites. This tells us that Vegas thinks the Patriots are the better team on a neutral field. With an over/under of just 42.5, points should be at a premium in this Thursday’s capper.
