Call them sleepers, flag plants, ‘my guys’, hidden gems, or values. Targeting players who are primed to exceed their current ADP is a tried and true strategy for fantasy success. After writing up our FullTime Fantasy Sleeper of the Year, these are my personal 2023 Fantasy Football Sleepers.
Some of the players may not be considered traditional sleepers. They might be considered closer to draft-day values. However, these are players that I have been consistently targeting in drafts. Also, I believe they will exceed their current value.
Now, let’s break down the 2023 fantasy football sleepers and values that I am targeting this season.
Quarterbacks
Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers) – Herbert isn’t a sleeper by any means. However, I’m including him because I feel Herbert belongs in the conversation of top-tier signal callers. The arrival of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore should do wonders for LA’s offense. Volume is already there, but I’m forecast some positive touchdown regression. Herbert is firmly my QB4, well above his FantasyPros ECR.
Russell Wilson (Denver Broncos) – Wilson was my pick for Comeback Player of the Year in my Preseaon Pro. Wilson was victimized by terrible coaching last year. The arrival of Sean Payton alleviates that concern. Off the heels of a hot December and fortified by a top-10 schedule, Wilson looks like a top-10 fantasy QB that you can often snag in the last few rounds of fantasy drafts.
Desmond Ridder (Atlanta Falcons) – Is Ridder a breakout candidate with QB1 upside? No. However…

J.K. Dobbins (RB) Baltimore Ravens –That’s right! It’s time for Dobbins to break out in a big way. Injuries have limited Dobbins to just 23 games in three NFL seasons. Also, he missed all of 2021 with a torn ACL and struggled to be effective until late last year.
However, once the club took the training wheels off, we saw glimpses of just how explosive Dobbins can be. Starting in Week 14, Dobbins averaged 101 scrimmage yards per game in Baltimore’s final five contests.
Now fully healthy and the unquestioned RB1, Dobbins can be a good runner behind a great Ravens’ offensive line and put up quality RB2. He could even contend for RB1 numbers for fantasy managers.
New OC Todd Monken will have this Baltimore offense passing the ball more than ex-OC Greg Roman ever did. However, it’s hard to tell how much that’ll affect Dobbins’ pass-catching upside.
The Ravens continued to show their support for Dobbins in this year’s NFL Draft. The team did not add any competing in April, nor did they sign any significant challengers to Dobbins’ role via free agency.
Baltimore should run a ton of plays and contend for…

Reading between the tea leaves is a big part of having success in fantasy sports. Understanding the direction of a player, either by his natural progression or his status coming off an injury, can lead to finding a potential value or a player to avoid. Finding the right mid-round running backs to target on draft day is an important strategy.
And speaking of strategy, the FullTime Fantasy Draft Kit is loaded with exclusive, league-winning tips and advice to help you DOMINATE YOUR LEAGUE!This includes our No.1 rankings, sleepers, fades, and much more!
Identifying Mid-Round Value
In the early draft season, there are too many values at different positions in fantasy football. This creates almost a false ADP for someone jumping into drafts in August. The flow of players in June and July, before the general public catches up with drafting inventory, is built on different buying opportunities.
As training camp news flows and players start getting positive reviews, the ADPs begin to change. This tightens up the player pool and makes it more challenging to execute an early draft plan. Once this happens, the better drafters will make tradeoffs at specific points. This is to secure the most critical players for their fantasy team.
This thought process brings me to the running back options after the first 17 or 18 backs come over the table. Typically, in the BestBall formats that I have been drafting, the running backs come off in this order midway through the fifth round:
Behind each player’s name is a skill set and a story, requiring the casual drafter to understand before deciding who to select. These running back aren’t equal, and a couple will become difference-makers in 2023. Here’s my quick back story on each player.
Kenneth Walker – Excellent rookie season showcasing explosive runs and scoring. He struggled in pass protection, and Seattle brought in competition to play on passing downs. In addition, Walker had a slight groin issue in mid-August that is progressing.
Alexander Mattison – Tempting player based on him expected to start for a high-scoring offense and his success at times as a fill-in for Dalvin Cook. He gained 3.7 yards on his last 208 rushing attempts and 6.8 yards per catch over 47 receptions. With Cook in New York, Mattison has a higher chance of being a wasted pick in the fifth round than an impact player. If he struggles out the gate…

Javonte Williams (RB) Denver Broncos-When searching for the player with the highest ceiling, I want a running back who will lead the team in scoring, have early-down rushing value, and be active in the passing game. The player with the highest upside in the RB2 tier is Williams.
In his rookie season, in a split role with Melvin Gordon, Williams gained 1,219 combined yards with seven touchdowns and 43 catches on 246 touches. He finished 17th in running back scoring (206.30) in PPR formats, while Gordon ranked 18th in fantasy points (198.70).
Williams has started to move up in drafts, especially in the high-stakes market (RB19). He runs with power, and his pass-catching in his rookie season highlights his potential floor in Payton’s offense. Denver should give Williams the bulk of chances at the goal line. I have him projected to gain…

Fantasy Playoff Schedule: Teams to Target
Analyzing the schedule is just a small part of a winning fantasy football draft strategy. Fortunately, at FullTime Fantasy, our Strength of Schedule Toolis an invaluable resource for identifying value throughout the season. Of course, winning is paramount. So the Fantasy Playoff Schedule: Teams to Target dives deep to show you which units have the most favorable slate in the crucial Weeks 14-17.
Sometimes potentially treacherous winter weather can be an ally for defenses. Other times, it’s friendly matchups that look appealing. In order to make good on a successful regular season, knowing what teams to target in the fantasy postseason can give you a huge edge in those must-win playoff tilts.
2023’s Top Postseason Schedules
There are two components to winning an overall championship in the high-stakes market. The first is surviving the first 14 weeks to make the postseason. The next step is having your team play at the highest level from Week 15 to 17.
Looking at the schedule late in the year can help a fantasy manager game plan before a draft, but there is no guarantee that an NFL team play up to or down to their expectations.

FFWC Risers & Fallers: August
Welcome to another episode of the FFWC stock report, where I dive in and talk about the players that are rising and falling in FFWC drafts. The high-stakes ADPdiscussed below will be based on FFWC Circa Las Vegas Championship leagues.
Speaking of the FFWC Circa Las Vegas Championship, pack your bags and get ready for the most amazing Vegas weekend of all time! Not only will the Circa Resort & Casino host the Championship, but we’re also taking fantasy football to a next-level experience with the Circa Las Vegas Fantasy Championships!
But now, let’s recap the FFWC Risers & Fallers: August from those amazing Circa Las Vegas Championship drafts.
Stock Rising
Jahmyr Gibbs (RB) Detroit Lions (ADP 25,+8)
The surge in popularity for Jahmyr Gibbs can be attributed to the turmoil faced by other running backs in the league. With Ezekiel Elliott signing with the Cowboys, Dalvin Cook joining the Jets, Josh Jacobs holding out, and Jonathan Taylor expressing trade desires, the conditions have favored Gibbs, causing his draft stock to soar from the 3/4 turn to an early 3rd round placement.
Personally, I’m very optimistic about Gibbs given his current price point, especially when snagged anywhere in the 3rd round. Also, you’re going to want to check out just how the FullTime Fantasy staff is on Gibbs here.
Dameon Pierce (RB) Houston Texans (ADP 56,+7)</p
Dameon Pierce is distancing himself from the veteran presence of RB Devin Singletary during training camp and preseason games. Indications suggest that Pierce could become an incredibly valuable three-down back in the Texans’ offensive scheme.
Ezekiel Elliot (RB) Dallas Cowboys (ADP 152,+8)
The experienced running back inked a one-year deal with the Patriots just last week, with expectations that he will vulture goal-line opportunities from Rhamondre Stevenson. My advice would be to…

2023 Deep Sleeper Wide Receiver
In the high-stakes fantasy football market, most deep sleeper wideouts will be found after round 16 (pick 192) in 12-team formats. Some potential under-the-radar players started drawing attention in early August, pushing them up draft boards. With any news blurb, a player can jump a tier in the category pecking order. A deep sleeper moves to a sleeper, or a sleeper becomes a breakout candidate.
Targeting these late-round 2023 Deep Sleeper Wide Receivers is a great way to build a championship fantasy football roster. Also, check out my deep sleeper tight ends. That and much, much more are part of the amazing FullTime Fantasy Draft Kit.
John Metchie (WR) Houston Texans
The Texans’ passing options won’t draw much attention in the fantasy market. But someone will emerge as a viable starting fantasy wide receiver in 2023. I put Nathaniel Dell with my sleeper wideouts while waiting to see some tape/news on Metchie. Recently, Houston posted a clip of Metchie on Twitter, showcasing his…
