2019 Fantasy Baseball: Weekend Recap (June 10)

It's time for the latest edition of our Fantasy Baseball weekend recap from Senior Fantasy Baseball Expert Adam Ronis to look back before we look forward.

Minnesota Twins P Jake Odorizzi

As Yordan Alvarez homered every day at Triple-A, many were wondering when the Astros prospect would get the call to the majors. Even with Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and George Springer injured, Alvarez still sat in the minors.

In leagues where he was available, many have stashed him. The waiting has finally paid off. Alvarez was called up to the Astros Sunday, and Alvarez hit a 413-foot two-run homer to left-center. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and should be owned in all leagues. The 21-year-old had a .343/.443/.772 line with 23 home runs and 71 RBIs at Triple-A Round Rock.

New York Mets SP Noah SyndergaardMets pitcher Noah Syndergaard had one of his best performances of the season, throwing seven scoreless innings with one hit, two walks and struck out seven in a win over the Rockies. He has a 4.45 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and an 88:22 K:BB ratio.

Twins pitcher Jake Odorizzi allowed one run on five hits and struck out eight in six innings for another win. He has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 11 straight starts and has a 1.92 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 78:22 K:BB ratio.

Twins outfielder Byron Buxton hits ninth in the order, usually a bad thing for Fantasy but with the Twins potent lineup, it hasn’t hurt. The Twins have already set a franchise record for most home runs before the All-Star break. Buxton went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and has a line of .270/.322/.531 with 37 runs, eight home runs, 36 RBIs and ten stolen bases.

Twins outfielder Eddie Rosario went 3-for-6 with his 19th homer. Teammate Nelson Cruz homered for the fourth straight game and has 11 home runs and 28 RBIs in 167 plate appearances.

Brewers closer Josh Hader struck out the side for his 16th save Sunday. He has a 2.20 ERA, 0.70 WHIP, and a 66:10 K:BB ratio in 32.2 innings.

Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and is hitting .340/.446/.745 with 50 runs, 24 home runs, 53 RBIs and 14 stolen bases.

Brewers second baseman Mike Moustakas homered for the seventh time in nine games and has 20 on the season.

Any time the Astros acquire a pitcher, pay attention. The latest project that has turned successful is Wade Miley. He pitched six scoreless innings and allowed six hits, two walks and struck out five in a win. He has a 3.14 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and a 65:21 K:BB ratio. Roberto Osuna got the final out for his 17th save.
