His recent failure is tied to home runs (3). Yoshihisa Hirano extended his scoreless streak to ten shutout innings with 11 Ks.
Atlanta Braves
Arodys Vizcaino has been successful in nine of 11 save chances with a 2.38 ERA and 23 Ks over 22.2 innings. He tossed three perfect innings with three Ks and two saves over the last three games. A.J. Minter has a minimal chance at earning saves in 2018 based on his last ten games (six runs and 20 baserunners over eight innings with ten Ks). He may need a drop back to AAA to regains his command and confidence. Dan Winkler improved shutout run to 14.1 innings with 21 Ks and seven holds.
Baltimore Orioles
Brad Brach stabilized over his last nine games in May (no runs over ten innings with 12 Ks and five saves). Brach has one blown save in nine tries. Mychal Givens has a 2.00 ERA and 22 Ks over his last 18 innings with a save and five holds.
Boston Red Sox
Home runs (5 over 24 innings) continue to be a problem for Craig Kimbrel, but he’s still 18-for-21 in save conversions with a 2.16 ERA and 34 Ks. His best asset in 2018 is his repeated command (five walks) from 2017. Joe Kelly remains a second stud in Boston’s bullpen. Over his last 25.2 innings, Kelly has 0.35 ERA and 27 Ks. Matt Barnes extended his scoreless streak to seven innings with ten Ks.
Chicago Cubs
Brandon Morrow has one blown save in his 13 tries with a 1.00 ERA and 20 Ks over 18 innings. Morrow didn’t allow a run over his last seven innings with ten Ks. Jace Fry saw his ten-inning scoreless end on May 28th when he allowed a run and three hits over one inning of work.
Cincinnati Reds
After missing ten days with a biceps issue, Raisel Iglesias return to the Reds on May 30th when he converted his ninth save in 11 tries. Iglesias has 1.96 ERA and 28 Ks over 23 innings. Andrew Miller landed back on the DL with a right knee issue. Over his last 4.1 innings, Miller has a 14.54 ERA and 3.00 WHIP. Cleveland doesn’t have another arm of value in their bullpen, which is going to be a huge problem to their World Series hopes.

Houston Astros
Ken Giles has two poor outings in May leading to seven runs and seven baserunners over one-third of an inning. Despite his struggles, Giles still hasn’t blown a save with a 9.00 ERA and 1.86 WHIP over his last seven innings. Chris Devenski had the last save chance in Houston, which led to a losing outing (two runs, four baserunners, and one home run over one inning). Miami Marlins
As the calendar is about to change to June, Brad Ziegler still has a closing job. Over his last four games, Brad has an 18.90 ERA and 3.00 WHIP. Ziegler remains perfect in his nine save chances, which is surprising considering his disaster risk. Kyle Barraclough hasn’t allowed a run over his last 7.2 innings with three Ks to position himself for saves over the previous four months of the season. Drew Steckenrider pitched 2.1 shutout innings over his last three games.

Seattle Mariners
Edwin Diaz had his worst outing of the year on May 29th when he allowed four runs and four baserunners over one-third of an inning. Diaz has two blown saves in 21 chances with a 2.83 ERA and 48 Ks over 28.2 innings. Alex Colome lost his closing opportunity after his trade to Seattle over the last week. Jordan Hicks is trending toward the 9th inning over his last eight innings (no runs and eight Ks). Sam Tuivailala hasn’t allowed a run over his last 5.2 innings with one walk and eight Ks.
Tampa Bay Rays
The closing job in Tampa will remain in flux until someone seizes the opportunity. Jonny Venters picked up a one-out save on May 28th, but it was more of a matchup play. Venters is a great story, and he’s allowed only one run over his first nine innings back in the majors with six Ks. Sergio Romo has save-experience, but he struggled in three of his last four games (six runs and eight baserunners in 2.2 innings with two Ks). Romo did convert a save on May 29th despite allowing two runs over one inning. Most Fantasy owners played their closing bet in Tampa on Jose Alvarado after starting the year with a 2.78 ERA and 24 Ks over 22.2 innings. Alvarado has a big fastball, but he needs to throw more strikes.
Texas Rangers
Keone Kela hasn’t blown a save in 12 tries, but his ERA (4.43) still needs work. Kela allowed two runs over his last 9.1 innings with ten and six saves. Jake Diekman has a 2.25 ERA over his last eight innings with an 11 Ks. Jose Leclerc hasn’t allowed a run over his last 5.1 innings with five Ks.

Over his last five games, Clippard allowed seven runs and 11 baserunners over four innings with a save and two blown saves. Ryan Tepera picked up a pair of saves over the last week, but he allowed a run in two of his last four games. Tepera should be the top short-term option for saves for Toronto. Seung Hwan Oh still has the best resume for saves (2.13 ERA and 28 Ks over 25.1 innings), but the Blue Jays haven’t given him a chance for saves since the Roberto Osuna incident.
