In the video above, Dr. Roto and Adam Ronis delve into the top three from this year’s wide receiver rookie class: Alabama’s Calvin Ridley, Maryland’s D.J. Moore & SMU’s Courtland Sutton. Fantasy owners have been blessed with stud WRs at the top of drafts in recent years, but that trend has slowed down recently. There is no slam dunk prospect who is a no-brainer like a A.J. Green or Mike Evans or DeAndre Hopkins. Ridley has speed and quickness but lacks prototypical No. 1 WR size. Moore also has speed and burst but lacks the route-running polish to gain consistent separation. Sutton has ideal size for a No. 1 but is missing big-time speed. So there is speculation that only two, maybe only one WR could be picked in the first round of the draft. Plus look at what Minnesota did. Stefon Diggs: 5th round pick. Adam Thielen: Undrafted free agent. It’s a copycat league and some may feel they can find talent in the later rounds if no one jumps out at them as a sure-fire first rounder.
