Playoff Fantasy Football Primer
Firstly, I would like to wish everyone a Happy and healthy New Year!
For those of you who play “regular” seasonal Fantasy Football, I highly encourage you to play Playoff Fantasy Football. We offer three different games for you to choose from at PlayScoutFantasySports.com
The first game which is the easiest to play is the Beat Dr. Roto and Adam Ronis contest. The premise is simple—anyone whose score is higher than both Adam and me is a winner.
The rules are easy—pick 11 players (no more than one per team at each position) and then watch your team play. If you score the most points, you win a free entry into our Fantasy Football World Championship! Remember though, you only get ONE Entry into this contest, so you better make sure it’s good enough to beat me and Ronis!
The second game that we offer is Maui Madness. This is one of my favorite games that we offer all year. For just $25 per entry (or $100 for 5 entries) you can win six nights in Maui plus airfare for four!
The rules of this game are as follows:
Select an 8-man lineup of players whose teams are alive in the NFL Playoffs.
A roster consists of 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX (RB, WR or TE), 1 Kicker, 1 Defense/Special Teams.
No more than 3 skill position players from any one (1) NFL team.
Your team stays the same for the entire NFL playoffs. There are no waivers and no roster moves.
There are FOUR weekly rounds of the NFL playoffs (1. Wildcard Round, 2. Divisional Round, 3. Conference Championship Round, 4. Super Bowl). Each week, your team accumulates points. Your team’s two best scoring weeks are combined. The team with the highest two-week combined is the winner and goes to MAUI!

The third contest is our granddaddy of them all, the Playoff Draft World Championship.
1 in 6 entries will win $500! Every team advances to the Championship Round through the Super Bowl, so your team is alive the ENTIRE PLAYOFFS.

Your weekly lineup (1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX (RB-WR-TE), 1 PK and 1 DST) is automatically set based on your best scoring options. This is commonly referred to as a Best Ball format. Score the most cumulative fantasy points in your league from Wild Card round through the Super Bowl and win the League prize of $500.
So how do you win the Playoff Draft World Championship? A lot of skill and a little bit of luck. First, the key is to find players on teams who will win three or four games. Your player cannot accumulate points if he is not on the field. One and done is not going to make you my rich friend.
Before your draft, I encourage you to map out how you think the playoffs are going to go. Once you have done this, you can draft your team accordingly. If you think about it, it is almost as important to pick the games correctly as it is to pick the right players. Once you have done that, create a list at each position and rank them accordingly. I highly recommend going all in on one or two teams. Then, if those teams make a deep run into the playoffs, you will most likely win.
The best part of playing playoff Fantasy Football is that it keeps the games exciting no matter whether your team is in the playoffs or out. Even better, you might win a ton of money watching the games. I wish you all good luck!
