2025 NFL Free Agents: Wide Receivers

In fantasy football, there is no offseason. Before the NFL finalizes its year, fantasy football fans are preparing for the next draft season. That is especially true in dynasty football. Part of good preparation is knowing about the upcoming crop of NFL free agents.

The draft can dramatically shake rosters. However, free agency begins in March and is the first major “new” season event. Therefore, it is important to note which veterans are signing and how that could impact the upcoming NFL draft.

Third in FullTime Fantasy‘s free agent analysis series, here is our 2025 NFL Free Agents: Wide Receivers.

Stefon Diggs boasted the highest 2024 salary among 2025 free agents. However, coming off an October ACL tear complicates his value. Additionally, Diggs has the reputation for being a mercurial player and he will turn 32 in November. It will be difficult for him to land a lucrative long-term contract, which may lead to a one-year ‘prove it’ deal in the $12-15 million range.

Davante Adams was released by the Jets on March 4. Expect him to wait to see if Aaron Rodgers signs so they can get the band back together.

Throughout his career, Tee Higgins has played second fiddle to Ja’Marr Chase. But one year after playing on the franchise tag, Higgins enters free agency in his prime poised to receive plenty of offers to be a team’s WR1 finally. He’s likely priced himself out of returning to the Bengals, who still have to work an extension for Chase. Higgins will have no shortage of suitors and could attract a four-to-five-year deal averaging over $25 million annually.

Keenan Allen earned over $20 million last year. However, he’ll be 33 in April and is slowing down. His yards per catch numbers dipped and Allen posted a career-worst 1.36 yards per route run in 2024. Allen can still be a dependable possession receiver and outlet option, but his days of commanding WR1 targets and dollars are over.

What might have been for Chris Godwin, who was having the best season of his career before dislocating his ankle in Week 7. Godwin was averaging 19.7 PPR points per game, which would have ranked third among all wideouts this season. 29 in February, Godwin is still in his prime and will attract plenty of teams with his inside/outside flexibility. Look for Washington, which has a big need and plenty of cap space, to be very motivated to acquire Godwin’s services. However, they won’t be the only team interested.

Amari Cooper‘s down season will reduce interest on the open market. Cooper turns 31 before the season and is coming off the worst statistical showing of his career. The 10-year veteran looks destined to play a complementary role.

Another aging veteran free agent, DeAndre Hopkins will also vie for a short-term deal as a veteran safety value. Hopkins, who turns 33 in June, is no longer an explosive downfield playmaker. However, his hands remain reliable. Look for Hopkins to sign a 1-year, mid-range deal as a WR2/3 for a contending team.

Position Grade: 7/10
