WR Josh Gordon Facing Indefinite Suspension
News: Gordon says he is stepping away from football to focus on his mental health. Another source is saying he faces a potential indefinite suspension. On Twitter, Gordon said, “I take my mental health very seriously at this point to ensure I remain able to perform at the highest level. I have recently felt like I could have a better grasp on things mentally. With that said, I will be stepping away from the football field for a bit to focus on my mental health.” Gordon is out for the remainder of the season.
Fantasy Impact: Gordon has done pretty well this season as a flex play, but all that seemingly has come to an end. With all the injuries and depth chart shuffling going on across the league, if you were relying on Gordon, this could hurt the back-end of starting lineup. I’m not going to pump up Chris Hogan, who will likely see more time. Julian Edelman obviously gets a bump but I don’t think he’s much more than a solid WR2. Rob Gronkowski has been so inconsistent but what can you do? He’s a stud and you just never know when he’ll have a huge performance. Maybe a couple more catches for James White? The Patriots always find different players to contribute so you just have to hope you have the winning lotto ticket in any given week! One final thought for Gordon: Ultimately, if this is it for Gordon, good luck to him. Life is bigger than football and I hope he lives his best life.
