Prescription Notes for Week 9
–When is Fantasy Football occasionally frustrating? When your star players fail to have good games. Take Bears RB Tarik Cohen for example. Cohen had five yards rushing on six carries and one reception for eight yards and was virtually non-existent against the Bills. The reason? The Bears defense dominated, Jordan Howard scored on two short yardage runs, and the game flow did not go Cohen’s way. What can a Fantasy owner do? Nothing, but have a short memory and start Cohen in Week 10.
–About two weeks ago I wrote that Bucs WR Mike Evans was a great candidate to trade away if you had him on your team. I feel that way now more than ever. Ryan Fitzpatrick does not key on any one receiver (unlike Jameis Winston) and Evans is no longer guaranteed to have huge games. I wouldn’t just give him away, but I would look for an unsuspecting owner in my league and see if I could trade Evans to him early in the week before all the “so-called experts” start realizing that Evans’ value is going to plummet.
–The Browns may have lost, but I thought that their offense looked much better this week. QB Baker Mayfield still has practically no time to pass, but when he does, he found Duke Johnson, David Njoku, and Jarvis Landry regularly. Adding Breshard Perriman will give the team an additional speed receiver to complement Antonio Callaway who struggles with drops. If the Browns can add two or three OL next season, they will be a Fantasy offense to own in 2019.
