  1. RB Saquon Barkley – NYG – Age: 21 | Ht: 5’11 | Wt: 230

Barkley is the clear-cut best player in this class, regardless of league format. With the return that can be netted from trading Barkley, he is the easy choice for 1.01.

  1. RB Derrius Guice – WAS – Age: 20 | Ht: 5’11 | Wt: 208

Despite his so-called character issues, Guice looks to enter the 2018 season as the β€˜Skins’ lead back and early-down pounder. Expect a high-end RB2 season and his value to maintain throughout this upcoming season.

  1. RB Sony Michel – NE – Age: 23 | Ht: 5’11 | Wt: 215

Patriot running backs are often difficult fantasy assets to own due to the seemingly indecisive Bill Belichick. Michel is extremely talented and will likely be used considering New England spent the 31st overall pick to grab him.

  1. WR Courtland Sutton – DEN – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt: 216

Despite landing in a β€œcrowded” landing spot, Sutton profiles as an NFL WR1, so if that means having to sit behind Demaryius Thomas for a season, so be it. The talent and future opportunity still warrant a top-five selection.

  1. RB Nick Chubb – CLE – Age: 22 | Ht: 5’10 | Wt: 225

Chubb finds himself in a suddenly crowded Cleveland backfield that contains pass-catcher Duke Johnson and newly-signed Carlos Hyde. Should Hyde be cut either this preseason or next offseason, Chubb looks like a solid bet to handle early-down work soon enough.

  1. WR Anthony Miller – CHI – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 5’11 | Wt:Β 190

Miller is an all-around receiver who will make plays all over the field. Sophomore quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is surrounded with an arsenal of weapons but expect Miller to be his go-to underneath guy when he needs to bail out. His huge ceiling and high floor are certainly worth a top-six pick.

  1. WR Calvin Ridley – ATL – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt:Β 190

Ridley will be the perfect complement to stud receiver Julio Jones. He will provide a high floor for all fantasy purposes and serve as an Emmanuel Sanders type for years to come, despite turning 42 years old last week.

  1. RB Ronald Jones – TB – Age: 20 | Ht: 5’11 | Wt: 205

Jones is the candidate for biggest riser due to landing spot. His explosiveness will be put on display in Tampa, but a committee should form early in the season. Charles Sims and Peyton Barber will both mix in, so this point in the draft is where the risk officially sets in.

  1. WR James Washington – PIT – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’0 | Wt: 205

Washington has dropped in many people’s books due to his landing spot in Pittsburgh, but with the departure of Martavis Bryant, Washington will step in and immediately play a role in the offense. The connection with backup quarterback Mason Rudolph could pay dividends shortly. Have faith in Washington’s talent and situation.

  1. RB Rashaad Penny – SEA – Age: 22 | Ht: 5’11 | Wt: 220

Seahawk running backs rotate faster than a Merry-Go-Round at the small county fair. The offensive line is terrible and running backs Chris Carson and CJ Prosise still have good shots at contributing. Don’t buy the Penny hype.

  1. WR D.J. Moore – CAR – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 5’11 | Wt: 215

Moore finds himself in an offense based around 2017 first round pick Christian McCaffrey, so his upside is somewhat limited. Devin Funchess will still command targets and be a reliable force in the red zone. Moore will never be a WR1, both for the Panthers or dynasty teams.

  1. WR Christian Kirk – ARI – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 5’11 | Wt: 200

Similar to that of DJ Moore, Kirk possesses upside but profiles as a number two or three option in an offense. Even if Larry Fitzgerald retires after 2018, Arizona will find an alpha target for franchise quarterback Josh Rosen.

  1. RB Kerryon Johnson – DET – Age: 20 | Ht:Β 6’0 | Wt: 212

Johnson is the likely candidate for early-down work, but with Theo Riddick holding down the third-down role, his upside is limited. LeGarrette Blount will vulture goal line touchdowns this season, so take the opportunity to pass on Johnson and acquire at a lower price later this season.

  1. WR Tre’Quan Smith – NO – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt: 210

With Ted Ginn Jr. getting older and older every second, Smith has a great chance to seize the number two role in the Drew Brees-led offense.

  1. RB Royce Freeman – DEN – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’0 | Wt: 238

Freeman will play a role in the Denver offense, but because of his mediocre abilities, opportunity for carries will not amount to much. Devontae Booker at a lower price would be a better fantasy bet.

  1. TE Mike Gesicki – MIA – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’6 | Wt: 250

Depending on how much head coach Adam Gase uses him, Gesicki will be a useable tight end but may have to wait until 2019 to become an elite asset.

  1. WR Antonio Callaway – CLE – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 5’10 | Wt:Β 193

Because of his off-the-field issues, Callaway is one of the most underrated players in this year’s class. He will beat out Corey Coleman with ease and challenge for targets immediately.

  1. WR DaeSean Hamilton – DEN – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt: 206

Hamilton is the best route runner in this class and will replace Emmanuel Sanders in the slot before too long. He is an excellent choice in the mid-late second round.

  1. WR Michael Gallup – DAL – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt: 200

Another landing spot riser, Gallup will be over-drafted because he is the assumed Dez replacement. Pass on Gallup and trade for Noah Brown instead.

  1. TE Dallas Goedert – PHI – Age: 24 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt: 260

The landing spot is not great, but Goedert is a talented player who may have to wait a couple years before taking on a significant role.

  1. WR Dante Pettis – SF – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt:Β 195

Pettis will be more valuable to the 49ers than he will to any fantasy team. He is not a true go-to receiver, a Tyler Lockett-type role is expected.

  1. QB Baker Mayfield – CLE – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt: 220

He is in the best spot to contribute and showcase his skill set. Spending a late second round pick on Mayfield is absolutely acceptable.

  1. QB Josh Rosen – ARI – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt: 218

Rosen is the best quarterback in this class, and he will prove all the haters wrong. If any dynasty team needs a signal-caller, Rosen is the safest bet to solidify it.

  1. RB Kalen Ballage – MIA – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’3 | Wt: 230

Adam Gase loves his pass-catching running backs, and Ballage does that extremely well. A PPR production possibility is there.

  1. TE Mark Andrews – BAL – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt: 254

Andrews has a good chance to become fantasy relevant within the next two years, and he will likely come cheaper than fellow draft pick Hayden Hurst.

  1. WR Deon Cain – IND – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt:Β 190

Someone has to play opposite TY Hilton, and Cain is a good bet to fill that role. He is not a polished receiver, but the opportunity is there and worthy of a mid-third round selection.

  1. TE Ian Thomas – CAR – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’5 | Wt: 248

Thomas is a huge sleeper in this class and will take over the starting tight end role once Greg Olsen follows Jason Witten to the broadcast booth. Trading up for Thomas is a great idea.

  1. WR Keke Coutee – HOU – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 5’11 | Wt:Β 180

Braxton Miller was a failed experiment, so Coutee enters the league with high expectations. Deshaun Watson loves to utilize his slot receivers, so there is a ton of upside with a selection like this.

  1. RB John Kelly – LAR – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 5’9 | Wt: 205

Kelly is an extremely talented runner but is stuck behind Todd Gurley. He is an excellent handcuff pick and end-of-the-bench stash to acquire anywhere in the third round.

  1. QB Lamar Jackson – BAL – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’2 | Wt: 216

Depending on roster construction, Jackson is a home run swing in the third round of rookie drafts. It may take him two years to see the field, but when he does, it could pay massive dividends.

  1. WR Richie James – SF – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 5’9 | Wt:Β 173

James has a chance to beat out Trent Taylor, and if that is the case, he will provide instant value in PPR formats. He will be considered a steal in the fourth round.

  1. RB Justin Jackson – LAC – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 5’11 | Wt: 200

Jackson’s college production and skillset will boost him to the backup role behind Melvin Gordon. If the cards fall correctly, Jackson may some stand-alone PPR value. He is a better Austin Ekeler.

  1. WR D.J. Chark – JAX – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt:Β 198

Chark is look-good prospect but does not have the polished abilities to contribute. Unless it is the end of the fifth round, do not draft D.J. Chark.

  1. WR J’Mon Moore – GB – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 6’3 | Wt: 205

Moore possesses the highest ceiling of any Packers’ draftees. Despite Equanimeous St. Brown being a community favorite, Moore has a better chance of making the team and earning a role.

  1. TE Hayden Hurst – BAL – Age: 24 | Ht:Β 6’5 | Wt: 250

Hurst will likely be 27 years old before establishing himself as a starter in the NFL. There will always be better options but likely avoid at any cost higher than a third rounder.

  1. RB Nyheim Hines – IND – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 5’9 | Wt:Β 197

Hines is Tyler Ervin, version two. There could be some PPR value, but do not expect much fantasy value.

  1. WR Trey Quinn – WAS – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’0 | Wt: 202

Quinn is one of my favorite sleeper prospects this season, and once Jamison Crowder is out of his rookie contract, Quinn could step in and be the starting slot receiver. He is a great dart throw in the fourth round.

  1. WR Russell Gage – ATL – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’0 | Wt:Β 184

Gage is a gadget player who has a chance of making the roster and replacing Taylor Gabriel in the Atlanta offense. He is truly a dart throw but an interesting one to say the least.

  1. RB Ito Smith – ATL – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’0 | Wt: 238

Once Tevin Coleman departs in free agency, Smith will likely slide in and become the change of pace back behind Devonta Freeman. In PPR leagues, target Smith in the fourth round.

  1. RB Bo Scarbrough – DAL – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’2 | Wt: 235

Scarbrough will scavenge for touches, but should Ezekiel Elliott get hurt, the Alabama bruiser will step in and be the early down back.

  1. WR Justin Watson – TB – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’3 | Wt: 210

@Pahowdy can attempt to convince me all he wants, but Watson will struggle to see playing time behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. He has an intriguing skill set but simply landed in the wrong spot.

  1. QB Josh Allen – BUF – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’5 | Wt: 222

In 1QB leagues, Allen will provide little value early on in his career. Pass on him now and if needed, trade for him later this season at a lower price.

  1. QB Sam Darnold – NYJ – Age: 20 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt: 220

  1. RB Josh Adams – PHI – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’2 | Wt: 225

Adams finds himself in a crowded, yet intriguing situation where he could carve out an early down role if Jay Ajayi struggles at any point this season.

  1. WR Auden Tate – CIN – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 6’5 | Wt: 225

He is slower than most grandmothers, but at least he is faster than De’Runnya Wilson. A transition to tight end might benefit Tate’s fantasy career. Just ask Darren Waller.

  1. WR Cedrick Wilson – DAL – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’3 | Wt:Β 188

Although he was the second Dallas receiver taken, Wilson has a chance to make the team and outplay Michael Gallup. Wilson, at his price, is a safer gamble than Gallup in the second round.

  1. RB Jordan Wilkins – IND – Age: 23 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt: 217

Wilkins has talent, but the Colts will most definitely bring in a more valuable running back next offseason. There are much better options at every point in the draft.

  1. TE Jordan Akins – HOU – Age: 26 | Ht:Β 6’4 | Wt: 249

Akins will have to beat out Stephen Anderson to play an immediate role, so unless he drastically improves during camps, Akins will likely not make much of an impact.

  1. RB Mark Walton – CIN – Age: 21 | Ht:Β 5’9 | Wt:Β 195

Walton is stuck behind Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard, both of whom are much more talented and reliable. Unless a double handcuff is appealing, Walton is an avoid candidate.

  1. WR Daurice Fountain – IND – Age: 22 | Ht:Β 6’1 | Wt: 210

Fountain has a great chance to make the roster and earn immediate playing time. He is a bit of a wild card, so the later he is available, the better.
