WR Alshon Jeffery – Jeffery played a full season in 2017 for the only the second time in his career. He averaged 7.5 targets per game while coming up short in his catch rate (47.5). His best value came in TDs (9). Alshon played well in Week 2 (7/92/1) while delivering the most consistency from Week 9 to Week 14 (28/36/6) when Jeffery caught at least four passes per game. In the playoffs, he caught 12 of his 18 targets for 219 yards and three TDs. Overall, Alshon did fit well in the Eagles’ game plan. He flashed a high ceiling in 2013 (89/1421/7) with the Bears. He still owns the skill set to be a top WR in the game, but Jeffery doesn’t have a WR1 opportunity plus he’ll have plenty of competitions for targets again in 2018. I like how he developed over the course of the season, which points to 70+ catches for 1,000+ yards and possibly double digit TDs.
TE Hayden Hurst – Over the last two seasons at South Carolina, Hurst caught 92 passes for 1,175 yards and three TDs. Many of highlights in college show him with easy releases and wide-open catches behind the second level of the defense. Hayden needs to prove he can handle press coverage in the NFL and a tighter catch window. His hands grade well while having the speed to test a defense in the deep passing. The Ravens completed 104 passes to the TE in 2017 for 811 yards and five TDs on 134 targets. Hurst should emerge as the top TE option in his rookie season. Baltimore will rotate players at TE, which makes him a tougher buy on draft day. I’d draft him as an upside TE2 in PPR leagues with a floor of 50/500/5. His weakness in blocking will keep him off the field on many downs when the Ravens want to run the ball.
TE Jared Cook – In his eighth season in the NFL, Cook set a career high in catches (54) and yards (688) with two TDs and 86 targets. His best success came over three weeks mid-season (6/107, 4/57, and 8/126). Just when Fantasy owners started to believe in his upside, Jared had losing value in six of his last seven games (2/36, 1/2, 1/9, 2/17, 1/15, and 3/34). Cook had only one other game of value (5/75/1). In a way, it appeared Jared left stats on the table over the last half of 2017. With better QB play and more threats at WR, he should push his way to 60+ yards for 700+ yards with low scoring ability.
WR Pharoh Cooper – Over his sophomore and junior seasons at South Carolina, Cooper had 135 catches for 2,109 yards and 17 TDs highlighted by his 2014 season (69/1136/9). Pharoh also had 71 rushes in his college career for 513 yards and four TDs. Scouts don’t like his overall skill set as they believe Cooper doesn’t create enough separation when running his pass patterns, and his overall speed is below NFL standards for a WR with his size (5’11” and 207 Lbs.). Pharoh has plus quickness and acceleration. His hands have some risk. Sometimes you have to bet on heart, which Cooper has plenty. In his first two years in the NFL, he caught 25 passes for 190 yards on 39 targets.

K Ryan Succop – There has been an improvement in Ryan’s game since he moved to the Titans. Over the last four seasons, Succop made 86.5 percent of his 104 field goals including eight of 15 from 50 yards or more. In 2017, he led the NFL in FG attempts (42) leading to a career high in field goals (35). Over the last three years, Ryan made 99 of 105 extra point tries. The Titans will score TDs in close so his chance may still rank below the top kickers in the league. Matchup option with a chance to add long-term value.
