MLB DFS: Mon Oct 8th

Three game MLB DFS slate today as the Astros and Dodgers can wrap their series up on the road and the Red Sox-Yankees series shifts to Yankee Stadium all tied up at 1 a piece.

No Weather issues today, but it’s worth pointing out that the two day games are in 80+ degree temps and in Cleveland we have winds blowing out to center field which should definitely give us a nice … you know what boost.  For some STUPID reason the Indians are rolling out Clevinger today.  The Bauer injury late in the year has really killed this team.

PITCHING Choices

  1. Rich Hill or Mike Foltynewicz are the guys I would focus on today.  The Red Sox and Yankees are both relying heavily on going to the bullpens so Eovaldi and Severino are dangerous choices in my mind, although I do like one which I’ll mention below.  Atlanta played down this year as not much of a heavy hitters park and I think this is a low scoring close game.  Folty has the strike-out upside but Hill is where my gut leans on getting the win and pitching well.

SNEAKY SP2

  1. Nathan Eovaldi … Eovaldi has done FANTASTIC against the Yankees with 8 strikeouts, 4 hits in his last 10 IP vs them this year.  He is very cheap on DK which makes him an interesting SP2 play with Hill or Folty.

KEY HITTERS TO TARGET

Marwin Gonzalez (& Gurriel) … The middle of the Astros order should be the spot to drive in runs today.  I like George Springer and obviously Alex Bregman is on fire and the AL version of Christian Yelich right now, but Yuli and Marwin are the difference makers if you go Houston today and would be prime to pop one off Clevinger.  Marwin obviously gets a slight Switch Hitting LiC boost here.

Josh Donaldson is facing Keuchel who isn’t exactly a HR pitcher but this is why the Indians got Donaldson.  They needed a lefty masher bat from the right side and they got it with Donaldson.  Lets see if he can deliver for them today.

VALUE BATS

Brandon Guyer, Tony Kemp,

BATS FADE

Dodgers … They are mostly just too expensive for where I wanna go today.  I prefer the Astros/Indians game given the weather there, so I don’t mind a one off Dodger today like Puig or Bellinger, but I would not go heavy here as they’re too expensive given the matchup expectations.

TOP PLAYS PER POSITION

C:   McCann, Flowers, Grandal

1B:   Bellinger, Gurriel, Freeman

2B:  J.Ramirez

3B:  Donaldson, Turner, Bregman

SS:  Taylor, Lindor, Marwin G

This is a tough spot on DK.  Lindor is very expensive but a hard fade IMO if you wanna go full Indians do not get swept theory today.   Marwin is the cheap value play of the day but on DK getting him in OF is not a bad move.

OF:  Springer, Benintendi, Puig

OF VALUE:   Kemp, Guyer, Marwin G.
