Very short slate today, so we’re going to need to find some low owned plays to take down a GPP. Favorite plays are listed in order
Duffy (away vs Texas) he’s been absolutely hammered by righties this year giving up a .313 average and 13 home runs in 41.2 innings, with 7 of those HR coming on the road. That puts all RHB in play for the Rangers, as well as Mazara.
add CHIRINOS AND RUA to the mix. Profar is out tonight as well as Perez.
- Mazara – Perez – Falefa – Profar – Deshields
Matz (away vs Milwaukee) Another pitchers burned by right handed power. Matz is giving up a .241 average and 8 HR to RHB this year which includes a 41.2% hard contact and 43.2% fly ball. What’s crazy is his 5.2% hard contact and 87.2% ground ball rate to lefties (27 Batters faced) This takes Yelich and Shaw out for me. That leaves us with righties here that we want to play. A big upgrade in the lineup is the return of Ryan Braun, who should be in the lineup tonight. Aguilar is hot, Hernan Perez has 2 HR vs LHP, and Cain is always dangerous.
- Aguilar – Santana – Cain – Braun – Saladino
Bibens-Dirkx (home vs KC) he’s struggled against both LHB and RHB in 5 minor league starts this season. He wasn’t very good at home in his Starts last year with a 5.97 home era and .267 average. KC has cooled off recently, but their lineup has a ton of pop. A 2-3-4-5 stack of Soler, Moose, Perez and Whit is the perfect way to stack this. It should be hot again in Texas with plenty of runs to be scored from both sides.
- 2-5 stack Soler – Moose – Perez – Whit
Davies (home vs NYM) first game back from a DL stint, threw 4.2 innings and 9 k’s in rehab start. He’s posed a 3.50 home era in 18 IP including 2 HR to RHB. He struggled with hard contact to righties at home at 57.1%. New York really doesn’t have many power bats right now, so this can be an interesting spot for Davies especially with his 25.7% k rate to lefties at home. If you want to get off the Porcello or Snell chalk, Davies gives a decent floor and some upside in this matchup
- pitcher to use
Snell (home vs Boston) the tale of 2 pitchers. Snell has been so good at home posting a 1.07 era and 1.89 avg. Snell’s k rate is great to both sides with a 29.8% to lefties and 25% to righties. He’s also already faced Boston at home allowing only 3 hits in 5.2 innings. It’s a scary matchup on paper, but at home I like my chances on Snell
- Favorite pitcher of slate
Porcello (away vs Tampa) Porcello has been better on the road the last 2 years, coming in with a 3.03 road era and .228 average. His k rate to righties drops pretty significantly to 18.8%, and Tampa has some decent hitting righties in this lineup. He’s relied on ground balls this year, mixing in sinker, slider and change. Porcello will have a ton of ownership tonight, so In tournaments I’m fading him solely on that. The spot is good for him, so he’s a great cash game play.
