Week 4 Stock Watch
Stock Up
QB Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts
Tied for the most passing touchdowns in the league with seven (more than DeShaun Watson, Jared Goff, and Carson Wentz), Brissett is quietly putting up QB1 stats in the first three games of the season. Perhaps too many people wrote off the quality of the Colts roster simply because Andrew Luck retired. Fact is, Indy has a solid defense, Top 5 offensive line, and playmakers at the skilled positions. His floor is 17 points per game and with a tasty schedule against the Raiders, Chiefs, Texans, Steelers, and Dolphins all coming up in the next six weeks, fantasy managers can count on Brissett as a lot more than just a bye week filler.
RB Ronald Jones, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Perhaps the Bucs coaching staff is taking notice that Peyton Barber’s 3.7 yards per attempt are not efficient. Especially when comparing it to Jones’ 5.7 YPA. The second-year back posted the best game of his career in Week 3 where he rushed for 80 yards on 14 attempts and added 41 yards from one catch. Though Barber still had 15 total touches in Week 3, Jones outperformed him. It shouldn’t be much longer before this 50/50 split turns into one dominated by the former USC rusher.
RB David Montgomery, Chicago Bears
There were high expectations for the Bears rookie running back heading into the 2019 season, but he’s off to somewhat of a slow start. However, it seems that is quickly changing. In Week 3 Montgomery handled 29.5 percent of the team’s total runs and had a 66 percent of the snap share in their backfield. Meanwhile, Tarik Cohen saw just 12.5 percent of the rushing attempts and was on the field for 48.5 percent of the team’s plays. It should be clear the momentum is swinging in the rookie’s favor, especially when comparing Week 1 where it was lopsided in Cohen’s favor who saw 69.9 percent of snaps and only Montgomery 38.4 percent.
WR Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams
Despite tearing his ACL less than a year ago, Cooper Kupp is off to a fantastic start in 2019. With back to back games of over 100 yards and an astounding 11 receptions with two touchdowns in Week 3, Kupp is locked in as Jared Goff’s favorite target. In the first three games this year, he’s had 10, nine, and 11 targets. He’s producing like a borderline WR1, and we love him for it.
WR Sterling Shepard, New York Giants
With rookie Daniel Jones under center for the first time, there was concern surrounding Shepard’s projected production. Those concerns were put to rest after watching him haul in seven of his nine targets for 100 yards and a touchdown. Coming off a 23 point performance in Week 3 earns him a spot in your starting lineup for Week 4 against a bad Redskins secondary that allowed Taylor Gabriel to score three touchdowns.
TE Will Dissly, Seattle Seahawks
With three touchdowns in his last two games, Dissly is proving to be an essential factor in the Seahawks passing attack. He’s caught 11 of his previous 12 targets and finished with at least five catches for 50 yards in the last two weeks. Quarterback Russell Wilson is playing rock-solid with seven TDs on the year and will continue to connect with Dissly all over the field and especially in the end-zone.

Stock Down
QB Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns
Not a good start for the second-year quarterback who has more interceptions (5) than touchdowns (3). Despite the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. in the offseason, Mayfield hasn’t produced anything near the expected fantasy points through the first three weeks. Now the media and fans are starting to call into question Head Coach Freddie Kitchens’ play-calling. Can Mayfield turn it around in Week 4? Outlook doesn’t look so good considering he’s playing against the Ravens in Baltimore.
RB Austin Ekeler, Los Angeles Chargers
The dominant yet brief breakout for Austin Ekeler is coming to an end. Melvin Gordon informed the Chargers he’s coming back to the team and is expected to play starting in Week 5. More than likely scenario is Ekeler now plays a complementary role to Gordon. During his stint as the team’s starter, Ekeler scored four total touchdowns, ran for 160 yards, caught 19 passes and picked up 208 yards through the air. He goes from a legitimate running back one to a less productive role as a flex.
WR Emmanuel Sanders, Denver Broncos
Despite starting the year with games of 86 and 98 yards plus a score in each, the Broncos veteran caught just two passes for 10 yards in Week 3. We’ve seen the highs, and now we’ve seen the lows. The question now becomes which one is more in line with his expected output. Maybe it’s somewhere in the middle, but after reaching a peak after just two games, Sanders’ stock won’t be anywhere close to what it was before his clunker in Week 3.
TE Kyle Rudolph, Minnesota Vikings
An astounding 20 yards in three games, Rudolph is getting out produced by rookie Irv Smith Jr. who will undoubtedly be on the stock up list this time next week if he has another reliable performance in Week 4. With just four catches in three games, Rudolph can safely be dropped in every format.
