Arizona Diamondbacks

After about of a third of the baseball season, Brad Boxberger is 13-for-14 in save conversions with a 1.80 ERA and 27 Ks over 20 innings. Over the last week, Boxberger tossed two shutout innings with three Ks and one save. Archie Bradley struggled in three of his last six outings leading to an 8.44 ERA and seven Ks over 5.1 innings. His recent failure is tied to home runs (3). Yoshihisa Hirano extended his scoreless streak to ten shutout innings with 11 Ks.

Atlanta Braves

Arodys Vizcaino has been successful in nine of 11 save chances with a 2.38 ERA and 23 Ks over 22.2 innings. He tossed three perfect innings with three Ks and two saves over the last three games. A.J. Minter has a minimal chance at earning saves in 2018 based on his last ten games (six runs and 20 baserunners over eight innings with ten Ks). He may need a drop back to AAA to regains his command and confidence. Dan Winkler improved shutout run to 14.1 innings with 21 Ks and seven holds.

Baltimore Orioles

Brad Brach stabilized over his last nine games in May (no runs over ten innings with 12 Ks and five saves). Brach has one blown save in nine tries. Zach Britton was scheduled to make his first appearance in the minors on Wednesday night putting him on track to return the majors for a couple of weeks. Mychal Givens has a 2.00 ERA and 22 Ks over his last 18 innings with a save and five holds.

Boston Red Sox

Home runs (5 over 24 innings) continue to be a problem for Craig Kimbrel, but he’s still 18-for-21 in save conversions with a 2.16 ERA and 34 Ks. His best asset in 2018 is his repeated command (five walks) from 2017. Joe Kelly remains a second stud in Boston’s bullpen. Over his last 25.2 innings, Kelly has 0.35 ERA and 27 Ks. Matt Barnes extended his scoreless streak to seven innings with ten Ks.

Chicago Cubs

Brandon Morrow has one blown save in his 13 tries with a 1.00 ERA and 20 Ks over 18 innings. Morrow didn’t allow a run over his last seven innings with ten Ks. Chicago placed Carl Edwards on the DL this week with a bum right shoulder. Steve Cishek moved to next in line for saves after allowing one run over his last 12 innings with 14 Ks.

Chicago White Sox

Nate Jones only pitched one-third of an inning over the last week while not allowing a run. Over his last six games, Jones improved his shutout run to five innings with six Ks and three saves. He remains the top options for saves for the White Sox. Bruce Rondon blew up on May 25th when he allowed three runs and three hits while recording one out. Jace Fry saw his ten-inning scoreless end on May 28th when he allowed a run and three hits over one inning of work.

Cincinnati Reds

After missing ten days with a biceps issue, Raisel Iglesias return to the Reds on May 30th when he converted his ninth save in 11 tries. Iglesias has 1.96 ERA and 28 Ks over 23 innings. Jared Hughes picked up two saves last week while pushing his shutout run to 14 innings with eight Ks. David Hernandez has a 3.00 ERA over his previous nine innings with six Ks.

Cleveland Indians

Cody Allen pitched better over his last eight games (2.35 ERA and eight Ks over 7.2 innings) while picking up three saves. Allen has one blown save in nine opportunities. Andrew Miller landed back on the DL with a right knee issue. Over his last 4.1 innings, Miller has a 14.54 ERA and 3.00 WHIP. Cleveland doesn’t have another arm of value in their bullpen, which is going to be a huge problem to their World Series hopes.

Colorado Rockies

Wade Davis is 18-for-20 in save conversions with a 2.35 ERA and 25 Ks over 23 innings. Over his last 6.2 innings, Davis walked five batters while not allowing a run with six Ks. Adam Ottavino landed on the DL over the last week with an oblique injury. Jake McGee has been a disaster over his last 6.2 innings (6.75 ERA and 1.80 WHIP).

Detroit Tigers

Over his last seven innings, Shane Greene has a 5.14 ERA with five saves in six chances. Greene has 13 saves in 16 tries with some risk in his ERA (4.07) and WHIP (1.32). Joe Jimenez has a closer feel over his last 8.1 innings (no runs with one walk and 14 Ks). Warwick Saupold struggled in two of his last four outings (4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP).

Houston Astros

Ken Giles has two poor outings in May leading to seven runs and seven baserunners over one-third of an inning. Despite his struggles, Giles still hasn’t blown a save with a 9.00 ERA and 1.86 WHIP over his last seven innings. Chris Devenski had the last save chance in Houston, which led to a losing outing (two runs, four baserunners, and one home run over one inning). Over his last 10.2 innings, Devenski has a 3.38 ERA and 16 Ks. Brad Peacock struggled in each of his last three games (three runs, six baserunners, and two home runs over two innings).

Kansas City Royals

Kelvin Herrera has one blown save in 13 chances with a 0.83 ERA and 18 Ks over 21.2 innings. Herrera still hasn’t issued a walk in 2018. Tim Hill improved his shutout run to seven innings with nine Ks. Kevin McCarthy allowed one run over his last eight innings with no walks and nine Ks.

Los Angeles Angels

Blake Parker pitched two shutout innings over the last week with two Ks, but he didn’t have a save chance. Blake has a 0.71 ERA and 18 Ks over his last 12.2 innings with two saves. Justin Anderson extended his scoreless streak to 6.1 innings with six Ks. Jim Johnson has a 5.40 ERA over his last ten innings with nine Ks.

Los Angeles Dodgers

After a poor start to the season, Kenley Jansen finally corrected his stats after pitching 12 shutout innings with no walks, 14 Ks, and eight saves. Jansen now has a 2.66 ERA and 1.01 WHIP 23.2 innings with 12 successful saves in 14 opportunities. Josh Fields has a 0.87 ERA over his last 10.1 innings with seven Ks. Pedro Baez pitched better over his last seven innings (2.57 ERA) while still having risk in his WHIP (1.43).

Miami Marlins

As the calendar is about to change to June, Brad Ziegler still has a closing job. Over his last four games, Brad has an 18.90 ERA and 3.00 WHIP. Ziegler remains perfect in his nine save chances, which is surprising considering his disaster risk. Kyle Barraclough hasn’t allowed a run over his last 7.2 innings with three Ks to position himself for saves over the previous four months of the season. Drew Steckenrider pitched 2.1 shutout innings over his last three games.

Milwaukee Brewers

Corey Knebel has four saves and one blown saves over his last five games, while allowing two runs and seven baserunners over four innings with five Ks. Josh Hader hasn’t earned a save since May 11th. New York Mets

Jeurys Familia is 14-for-18 in save conversions with a 2.08 ERA and 31 Ks over 26 innings. Despite allowing four runs and nine baserunners over 3.1 innings, Robert Gsellman picked up a save on May 30th when he pitched a clean inning against the Braves. Seth Lugo started May with 17 shutout innings with one walk and 19 Ks, but he struggled in his last outing (three runs and four baserunners over 1.1 innings).

New York Yankees

Aroldis Chapman has one blown save in 13 chances with a 1.54 ERA and 41 Ks over 23.1 innings. His 8.1 inning scoreless run ended on May 30th in a converted save when Chapman allowed a run over one inning. Dellin Betances has a 1.29 ERA over his last seven innings with ten Ks. David Robertson hasn’t allowed a run over his last 3.2 innings with four Ks.

Oakland A’s

Over his last 6.2 innings, Blake Treinen didn’t allow a run with 11 Ks and four saves. Treinen is 12-for-14 in save tries with 1.00 ERA and 33 Ks over 27 innings. Lou Trivino has a 0.69 ERA over his last 13 innings with 11 Ks, but he did walk nine batters. Yusmeiro Petit allowed two runs over his last 14.2 innings with eight Ks.

Philadelphia Phillies

Hector Neris struggled in his last two games (two runs and four baserunners over 1.1 innings with four Ks). Neris has been successful in nine of his 12 saves chances with no opportunities since May 21st. His closing job remains at risk. Seranthony Dominguez still hasn’t allowed a run over 11.2 innings to start his major league career with no walks and 13 Ks. Edubray Ramos improved his shutout run to five innings with four Ks.

Pittsburgh Pirates

After his blowout game on May 20th (three runs and four baserunners with no outs recorded), Felipe Vazquez tossed 3.2 shutout innings with two Ks, one save, and two blown saves. Vazquez is 9-for-12 in save conversions with a higher than expected ERA (3.38) and WHIP (1.36). Michael Feliz crushed Fantasy owners over his last four games (nine runs and ten baserunners over three innings). Richard Rodriguez has 3.00 ERA over his last six innings with seven Ks.

San Diego Padres

Brad Hand has 16 saves in 18 tries with a 1.93 ERA and 42 Ks over 28 innings. He extended his shutout streak to 7.1 innings with nine Ks. Kirby Yates has 0.68 ERA over his last 13.1 innings with 17 Ks. Craig Stammen saw his 10.2 inning shutout run end on May 29th when he allowed a run and two hits over two-thirds of an inning.

San Francisco Giants

Over May, Hunter Strickland allowed five runs and 15 baserunners over 10.1 innings with seven Ks and three saves. Strickland is 11-for-13 in save conversions. Tony Watson struggled in two of his last three games (two runs and five baserunners over four innings with three Ks). Sam Dyson allowed one run over his last 9.1 innings with 11 Ks to lower his ERA to 2.49. Mark Melancon will return from the DL on June 1st. Over four games at AAA, Melancon tossed 3.2 shutout innings with four Ks. He’ll need some good innings in the majors before earning save chances.

Seattle Mariners

Edwin Diaz had his worst outing of the year on May 29th when he allowed four runs and four baserunners over one-third of an inning. Diaz has two blown saves in 21 chances with a 2.83 ERA and 48 Ks over 28.2 innings. Alex Colome lost his closing opportunity after his trade to Seattle over the last week. Tampa Bay Rays

The closing job in Tampa will remain in flux until someone seizes the opportunity. Jonny Venters picked up a one-out save on May 28th, but it was more of a matchup play. Venters is a great story, and he’s allowed only one run over his first nine innings back in the majors with six Ks. Sergio Romo has save-experience, but he struggled in three of his last four games (six runs and eight baserunners in 2.2 innings with two Ks). Romo did convert a save on May 29th despite allowing two runs over one inning. Most Fantasy owners played their closing bet in Tampa on Jose Alvarado after starting the year with a 2.78 ERA and 24 Ks over 22.2 innings. Alvarado has a big fastball, but he needs to throw more strikes.

Texas Rangers

Keone Kela hasn’t blown a save in 12 tries, but his ERA (4.43) still needs work. Kela allowed two runs over his last 9.1 innings with ten and six saves. Jake Diekman has a 2.25 ERA over his last eight innings with an 11 Ks. Jose Leclerc hasn’t allowed a run over his last 5.1 innings with five Ks.

Toronto Blue Jays

As expected, Tyler Clippard proved to be a fraud when asked to pitch in more important innings for the Blue Jays. Over his last five games, Clippard allowed seven runs and 11 baserunners over four innings with a save and two blown saves. Ryan Tepera picked up a pair of saves over the last week, but he allowed a run in two of his last four games. Tepera should be the top short-term option for saves for Toronto. Seung Hwan Oh still has the best resume for saves (2.13 ERA and 28 Ks over 25.1 innings), but the Blue Jays haven’t given him a chance for saves since the Roberto Osuna incident.

Washington Nationals

Sean Doolittle is 13-for-14 save conversions with a 1.78 ERA and 38 Ks over 25.1 innings. He extended his shutout run to 5.2 innings with eight Ks. Brandon Kintzler pitched better over his 4.1 innings with one K. Sammy Solis has a 2.79 ERA over his last 9.2 innings with ten Ks.
