The NFL is still a league centered around the quarterback. While QBs aren't nearly as important in the Fantasy Football world, every owner still needs a decent signal caller if he / she wants to win a Fantasy title. Stay ahead of the trends with this complete list of quarterback draft history!

DRAFT HISTORY

Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Receivers | Tight Ends

Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. That is the most number of signal callers picked in Round 1 since 1999, the year Donovan McNabb and Daunte Culpepper were drafted. Leading 2018’s class of QBs is Baker Mayfield, who was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the first overall pick. Since 2000, the Browns have had 26 different quarterbacks start a game. After being taken with the No. 1 pick of the 1999 draft, Tim Couch started 59 games for Cleveland and recorded just 22 wins compared to 37 losses. The Browns are hoping Mayfield will produce different results.

The New York Jets picked their future franchise quarterback with the No. 3 pick in Sam Darnold. Darnold will compete with Josh McCown for the starting gig this preseason. After parting ways with Tyrod Taylor, the Bills moved up in the draft to snag the quarterback of their future, Josh Allen. Allen will immediately compete with A.J. McCarron for the starting job. To round out the top ten picks, the Arizona Cardinals made a trade to move up in the draft order in order to select Josh Rosen. Now that Carson Palmer has retired, it shouldn’t be long until we see Rosen in action with just the injury-prone Sam Bradford in front of him on the depth chart. Finally, the quarterback with perhaps the most upside in the draft and certainly the most exciting player to watch, Lamar Jackson, was selected with the last pick of the first round by the Baltimore Ravens. While Jackson won’t be starting for at least a couple years, he has immense dynasty value since he will be learning from Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Flacco.
