2018 Fantasy Football: Which QB Gives The Jets The Best Chance to Win?

QB Sam Darnold – As a two-year starter for USC, Darnold passed for 7,229 yards with 57 TDs and 22 Ints. Sam has a good feel for the pass rush with the ability to slide in the pocket to create a longer passing window. He won’t be a running threat, but Darnold can convert scoring plays at the goal line and extend drives with his legs. If given an open field, he’ll take the long run. Most of his throws came out the shotgun. He has vision and the ability to locate his secondary receivers with quick decision making. He throws the ball well on the run while needing to improve his spiral when rushing his throw under duress.… Continue reading ...

2018 Dynasty Football: Quarterback Draft History

QuarterbacksRunning Backs | Wide Receivers | Tight Ends

Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. That is the most number of signal callers picked in Round 1 since 1999, the year Donovan McNabb and Daunte Culpepper were drafted. Leading 2018’s class of QBs is Baker Mayfield, who was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the first overall pick. Since 2000, the Browns have had 26 different quarterbacks start a game. After being taken with the No. 1 pick of the 1999 draft, Tim Couch started 59 games for Cleveland and recorded just 22 wins compared to 37 losses. The Browns are hoping Mayfield will produce different results.… Continue reading ...

2018 NFL Mock Draft

Pick 1: Cleveland Browns – QB Sam Darnold, USC

The Browns will select a quarterback. The question is which one? They have been linked to several of the top quarterbacks and it wouldn’t be surprising if they took any of them. There are some rumors building up that it could be Josh Allen, but they will most likely take Darnold. He has good size and has never missed a game due to injury.Continue reading ...

Fantasy Football: Dr. Roto’s NFL Draft Quarterback Preview

Daily Dr. Roto—April 23, 2018

With the NFL draft just around the corner, I’ve decided to step away from Fantasy Baseball for a few days and do some Draft previews.

There are five players who are expected to be drafted in the 1st Round:

Josh Allen — At the end of the day, I feel that the Browns will select Allen as the first player in this year’s draft. He’s got the size (6’5”, 240 lbs) and a cannon for an arm. He is the prototypical pocket passer that every team wishes they had under center. His accuracy is in question (under 56% for his college career), but how many guys have his arm strength and can make the throws he does?Continue reading ...

Fantasy Football: 2018 NFL Draft – Josh Allen vs. Sam Darnold

Dr. Roto and Adam Ronis continue to talk about the top prospects as we inch closer to day 1 of the 2018 NFL Draft. Today, the two Senior Fantasy Football Experts look at two of the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft class: Josh Allen out of Wyoming and Sam Darnold from USC. While both experts really like Darnold as the No. 1 pick in the draft, his regression in his second year in college and his lower body mechanics are most definitely concerns. Still, Ronis thinks Darnold will be selected by the Cleveland Browns with the first pick of the draft. However, Dr. Roto disagrees and does not think Darnold is as NFL-ready as Josh Allen.… Continue reading ...

A Letter to The Cleveland Browns’ Front Office

Dear Cleveland Browns,

It’s been 16 years since our last playoff berth and we’ve only won one game over the last two seasons. In the last three seasons, our team averaged only 16.2 points per game. Over the last 15 seasons, our offense has only scored over 20 points per game once (2007 – 25.1).

After last season, I was disappointed and surprised that Hue Jackson returned. He could be the greatest guy in the world, but one win in 32 chances isn’t worthy of being of holding an NFL head coach job. Maybe he was dealt a bad hand after the Browns went 3-13 in 2015 while being outscored by 154 points or 9.6 points per game.Continue reading ...
