Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 12
Happy Thanksgiving! Week 12 is one of the best slates of the entire year, with it kicking off with a day full of food, family, and football. Our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Week 12 picks will help you get off to a fast start. Additionally, FullTime Fantasy has some of the top tools of the trade and accurate rankings.
QuarterbacksÂ
Start ‘Em
Josh Dobbs (Minnesota Vikings) vs. ChicagoÂ
Josh Dobbs is now firmly in the must-start category for fantasy football enthusiasts. Over his three appearances with the team this season, he has maintained an average of 22.3 fantasy points, showcasing his dual-threat through both passing and rushing. Dobbs has already become the leading rusher in touchdowns for the Vikings this season, boasting three scores.
As the Vikings return to their home turf to face the Bears following a challenging prime-time loss to the Broncos, Dobbs sees an excellent opportunity to continue his impressive offensive performance under the guidance of head coach Kevin O’Connell.
Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars) at Houston
Last week he delivered a season-high 32.2 fantasy points in a convincing victory over the Titans. This outstanding performance instills more confidence in fantasy managers to start him in the upcoming matchup against the Texans, whose defense has allowed the ninth-highest points to quarterbacks in their last four games.
The emergence of WR Calvin Ridley also helps as well. Finally, Lawrence has a strong track record at NRG Stadium in what is essentially a game for the AFC South lead.
Sit ‘Em
Jared Goff (Detroit Lions) vs. Green Bay
Goff has entered a challenging stretch in his fantasy football season. Facing the Green Bay Packers in Week 12, a team with a top-10 passing defense, Goff’s recent struggles may persist.
With zero rushing upside and a chance the Lions are playing from ahead Goff’s ceiling could be capped. The Lions enter this game favored by more than a touchdown.
Running Backs
Start ‘Em
Raheem Mostert (Miami Dolphins) at New York Jets
Mostert is reclaiming the spotlight for the Miami Dolphins. With De’Von Achane’s brief return ending due to a re-injured knee, Mostert took advantage of the situation with 22 carries against the Raiders, resulting in 86 yards, albeit without a touchdown.
With the Dolphins playing on a short week and likely without Achane, Mostert is poised to resume his lead-back role against the New York Jets, known for their vulnerability to ground attacks.
Jerome Ford (Cleveland Browns) at Denver
Jerome Ford may not be putting up eye-popping numbers. But he has consistently scored 11 or more points in the last three games. Despite Kareem Hunt closing the gap in touches, Ford remains a solid flex starter, especially against the Broncos, who, despite recent improvements, still concede over six yards per carry since Week 8.
Also, the Broncos have allowed the most fantasy points to running backs. That includes a league-worst 1,380 rushing yards to opposing running backs.
Sit ‘Em
James Cook (Buffalo Bills) at Philadelphia
Cook has experienced inconsistency in the team’s backfield. Despite a couple of good weeks, facing the Philadelphia Eagles, known for the league’s best run defense, poses a significant challenge.
While Cook may not be a must-sit, his success will likely hinge on receptions and finding the end zone, which are rarities for him.
A.J. Dillon (Green Bay Packers) at DetroitÂ
Dilon has often been elevated in fantasy rankings in the absence of Aaron Jones. But the results have been underwhelming. Facing the Detroit Lions with a tough run defense, Dillon’s volume may prevent a complete downturn. But reaching double-digit fantasy points seems unlikely unless he scores a touchdown.
The Lions allow the eighth-fewest fantasy points to running backs and have only allowed six touchdowns to RBs in 10 games.
Wide Receivers
Start ‘Em
Zay Flowers (Baltimore Ravens) at Los Angeles Chargers
Zay has faced disappointment over the past month, with only one game exceeding 8.0 fantasy points. However, with Mark Andrews sidelined and facing the Los Angeles Chargers, known for allowing the second-most points per game to wide receivers, Flowers has a favorable setup to shine.
The potential absence of Andrews opens up a significant portion of Lamar Jackson’s targets, and Flowers, as the clear WR1, could capitalize on this opportunity.
Jayden Reed (Green Bay Packers) at Detroit
Reed has emerged as the primary third receiver, taking over the role in Week 11. With Wicks likely out due to injury, Reed, a second-round rookie, has showcased his playmaking abilities with 299 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in the last four games.
Reed is poised for the fantasy football rookie wide receiver second-half breakout. Especially with the Love/Watson connection playing so poorly.
Sit ‘Em
Tyler Lockett (Seattle Seahawks) vs. San FranciscoÂ
Lockett faces uncertainty due to a lingering hamstring injury and the potential limitations of quarterback Geno Smith. With both player and quarterback dealing with injuries, starting Lockett on Thursday night carries significant risk.
Also, the Niners have struggled against ‘alpha’ receivers this season. Even if the Seahawks are fully healthy for this game, DK Metcalf fits the bill of the type of wideout who could go off.
Terry McLaurin (Washington Commanders) at Dallas
McLaurin faces challenges in fantasy football due to uncertainties surrounding quarterback Sam Howell’s recent drop in intended air yards per pass attempt. With a tough matchup against the Dallas Cowboys and limited production in recent weeks, McLaurin’s fantasy outlook is uncertain.
Additionally, McLaurin hasn’t fared all that well against Dallas. In seven career matchups, McLaurin averages just 3.9 receptions, 53.3 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns. Not exactly WR1 wideout numbers.
Tight Ends
Start ‘Em
David Njoku (Cleveland Browns) at Denver
Njoku should continue to impress, especially against the Denver Broncos, who struggle against tight ends. Njoku has achieved double-digit fantasy points in each of the last five weeks, showcasing consistency despite changes in the quarterback position.
Also, despite the quarterback woes, Njoku has been the overall TE7 over the last three weeks. Facing a defense that allows the most points to tight ends, Njoku is a must-start for the upcoming week.
Sit ‘Em
Cole Kmet (Chicago Bears) at Minnesota
Kmet has been inconsistent throughout the season, exacerbated by fluctuating quarterback play. With a trip to Minnesota, where the Vikings have limited tight ends in their previous two games, Kmet remains a risky play until he shows that a healthy Justin Fields will utilize him.
