Starting to fall into the Trevor Richards and Wade LeBlanc price range now when constructing lines. Both teams in decent spots. I’m throwing multiple line ups into the $66 GPP so my exposure will vary depending on how much salary I have left after bats.
San Diego can be interesting against Ray. We saw them tag him last start, and I think they go overlooked.
PITCHING
Marquez – In 6 August starts, he had 6 quality starts, .214 ERA, 53 strikeouts, and just 1 home run. He’s facing Giants team that is not intimidating at all, and hitting .188 while striking out at 30.7% over the last 7 days. (Risk factor 3)
Giolito – Looks like he’s turned a page in his last 4 starts, striking out at least 6 batters, while also turning out 4 quality starts. Wellington Castillo is back who doesn’t handle pitchers well, so keep an eye on where he’s at in the lineup. They should start Kevan Smith, and DH Beef with Abreu still out. He will give up a run or 2, more than likely to Candelario or Castellanos. But, the strike outs are there at 26.8% in August. (Risk factor 4)
Gant – He had his start moved up to today pushing Mikolas back a day. He’s extremely tough on righties with a .189 average and 1 home run in 45 innings. Lefties have hit .212 and only 2 home runs. In August he had almost a 21% to 9% k to walk rate. Little bit of risk as he does give up some hard contact to lefties. But, he’s still cheap and just saw this team 2 starts ago. (Risk factor 6)
Beeks – He’s slated to get the bulk of the innings tonight in Toronto. He was great in August allowing just a .188 average, to go along with a 22% k rate and 52.1% ground-ball rate. Toronto hasn’t hit lefties all that well over the past 2 weeks with a
.227 average and 1 home run. (Risk factor 5)
STACKS
Dodgers – facing Jason Vargas at home……..Yikes. Dozier, Machado and Turner will Be chalky. One guy to keep an eye on if he’s playing if David Freese. He always hits lefties well, he’s cheap, and has great BVP against Vargas.
St. Louis – Fedde is gives it up to both sides of the plate, so we can expect a Carp bomb tonight. Fedde has given up at least 3 runs in all of his starts this year. Carp Ozzy Dejong JMart Munoz (hot)
KC lefties & Whit – Clevinger owns a 3.44 home era, while also giving up 6 home runs and a .281 average to lefties. We already like lefties in Cleveland, and Clevinger 42% fly ball rate to lefties. Also helps that KC is hitting .343 and 12 home runs over the past 7 days.
Milwaukee – Back to the well for the 3rd straight slate. Aguilar has hit the cover off the ball. He should’ve had a few more home runs over the weekend, but hooked a few just foul, and had one overturned. They’re another team that’s been hot over the past 7 days hitting 14 home runs, and a .277 average. I like the righties tonight, but don’t forget Yelich who’s destroying lefties as well.
White Sox – Like i said earlier, Castillo is back and a lefty masher. Liriano has given up 4 runs each of his last 3 starts, and I fully expect the Sox to punish him again tonight. Beef, Davidson, Anderson, Garcia
