Many say the preseason doesn’t matter and don’t watch games. If you live by this, it’s a mistake, but don’t worry we are here for you. One play can dramatically increase the ADP of a player. Here is the Preseason Stock Watch after Week 2 of the preseason.
RISERS
Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers
I am not sure how much higher McCaffrey can go, but after his 71-yard run, he’s moving up to the early second round. If you had plans of getting him in the back half of the second round, have another plan. McCaffrey’s ADP is up to 15 in the FFWC. The coaching staff has said McCaffrey will get 25 to 30 touches per game, and while that is farfetched, it’s clearly based on the preseason usage the plan is to give McCaffrey more touches. In the second preseason game, McCaffrey had 120 yards from scrimmage, including four catches for 28 yards. He has played 80 percent of the snaps with the first-team offense in two preseason games.
Kenny Golladay, Detroit Lions
Sometimes the preseason can be a sign of things to come, or it could be a team experimenting. Golladay has a lot of talent, and it appears the Lions want to play him more. When the Lions were on the field in the last preseason game in two-wide sets, it was Golladay and Marvin Jones. The Lions tend to employ a lot of three-wide sets, so no need to panic on Golden Tate. Either way, it’s an encouraging sign for Golladay, who has a current ADP of 114.

Carlos Hyde, Cleveland Browns
Hyde has been falling in drafts due to the presence of Duke Johnson and rookie Nick Chubb. Hyde had nine carries for 64 yards with a touchdown and is the lead back to start the season. Hyde played 17 snaps with the first-team offense; Johnson played eight and Chubb none. Hyde has an ADP of 80 but recently went as high as 60.
Taywan Taylor, Tennessee Titans
One of the negative things in preseason is when you’re on a player that has a big performance. Taylor was free for most of the year until now, although he’s still a value for now. In an industry best ball draft, which was superflex, I took Taylor at pick 240 on July 23. Taylor has received opportunity with Rishard Matthews sidelined with an injury. Taylor made the highlights with a 47-yard score on a short pass that displayed his speed. Taylor caught all four of his targets for 95 yards last week. Taylor has played outside and the slot. Taylor has an ADP of 172 but recently went 102, and they say preseason doesn’t matter?
FALLERS
RB Ronald Jones, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jones has shown nothing in the preseason. Peyton Barber will be the starter to open the season. Jones has more carries than yards and has been targeted twice, dropping both. Barber has seized the job, while Jones hasn’t excelled at anything. The second-round pick from USC has 11 yards on 12 carries. Jones has dropped numerous passes in practice and in games, too. Jones will get his shot, but it may take longer than anticipated. Jones has seen a dramatic fall with an ADP of 88 with a range of 71-111.
WR Alshon Jeffery, Philadelphia Eagles
Jeffery has yet to practice since undergoing surgery in February to repair a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder. Jeffery is unlikely to play or practice at all in the preseason. He is on the PUP list and was wearing a helmet at practice on Monday while working out on the side. The Eagles open the season two weeks from Thursday, so it’s getting dicey as to whether he will play. Jeffery played with the torn rotator cuff all of last season. Jeffery has an ADP of 61 with a range of 54-89.
RB Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns
Chubb didn’t play any snaps with Tyrod Taylor and the first-team offense on Friday against the Bills. Hyde will open the season as the lead back. Chubb is still worth having on the roster because of his talent, but it might take some time before he can make a Fantasy impact. Chubb has an ADP of 121 with a range of 99-133.
WR Antonio Callaway, Cleveland Browns
Callaway saw a big surge after the first preseason game when he played almost the whole game and looked good. At that time, the return of Josh Gordon was still in question, and Gordon is back with the team, although he’s not cleared to practice yet. Callaway wasn’t targeted in Friday’s preseason game against the Bills, but with Gordon, Jarvis Landry, David Njoku and Duke Johnson, Callaway isn’t as appealing. He has also missed practice with a groin injury. Callaway recently went as early as 121. His ADP is 159.
