Week 4 Fantasy Fallout: Our Parker Washington Miss—and the Snaps You Can’t Ignore

Every completed matchup, the biggest injuries and fantasy swings, plus the snap-count evidence that shapes our next move.

CeeDee Lamb

FullTime Fantasy · Week 4 recap

We called Parker Washington WR1. We missed. Here’s how we bounce back.

Washington finished with 2.0 PPR points. CeeDee Lamb and Tetairoa McMillan went nuclear. Injuries reshaped several offenses. The next edge starts with who actually played—and what they did with those snaps.

Coverage: All 15 completed games through Sunday night, October 4. Atlanta at New Orleans closes Week 4 on Monday, October 5 at 8:15 p.m. ET and remains pending here. Usage data was checked October 5; FFToolbox’s report showed 30 teams posted, with ATL and NO pending.

Our Week 4 fantasy football recap begins with accountability. We put Parker Washington ahead of Jaxon Smith-Njigba in our PPR receiver rankings, projecting 23.7 points. Washington caught one pass for seven yards and added three rushing yards. That is 2.0 PPR points—21.7 below our projection. If you followed that recommendation, you deserved a better result. We own it.

The response is to examine the miss and improve the next decision. Washington’s 80% snap share says he retained a substantial role; three targets say our expectation for his opportunity was too high. We will reduce that weekly expectation and weigh target concentration, passing volume and competing options before making another ceiling call. Keeping conviction also means updating when the evidence changes.

Your Monday edge: the NFL Snap & Touch Report

Open FFToolbox’s report, set Period to Week 4, choose PPR (or your league’s scoring), and filter by team and position. Read snaps, snap percentage, touches and targets together. Then use points per snap to see how efficiently a player converted his playing time into fantasy output.

Points per snap = fantasy points ÷ offensive snaps. A high rate on a tiny sample can be driven by one touchdown. A low rate with a full role can reveal a rebound candidate—or an offense that needs fixing. Touches are carries plus receptions; snaps include plays when a player blocks or never receives the ball. Snap share is not route participation.

The injury decisions that come first

Jackson (ankle), Chase (concussion), Higgins (adductor), Barkley (hamstring), Rice (hamstring) and Thornton (ankle) require fresh checks before the next lineup locks. McConkey’s foot injury and the Chargers’ tackle injuries add another layer. Monangai’s thumb needs follow-up despite his monster game. Mariota’s MCL sprain compounds Washington’s quarterback uncertainty. These are reported injuries; a Week 5 absence is not assumed unless the team or current reporting has established it.

Sunday’s NFL injury roundup · Monday’s updates · Bengals’ official postgame injury comments

Browns 27, Steelers 24

Big performances: Quinshon Judkins delivered 21.6 PPR points on 23 touches, including six receptions. Harold Fannin Jr. scored again. DK Metcalf supplied five catches for 115 yards, while Roman Wilson, Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth all caught touchdowns for Pittsburgh.

Letdowns: Michael Pittman Jr. managed 3.5 PPR points. Jerry Jeudy finished at 6.6. A team scoring in the mid-20s did not make every established receiver useful.

Health and next move: Rico Dowdle missed Thursday with a toe injury. Jaylen Warren remains a strong volume play while that absence continues; do not project this near-total backfield share into a week when Dowdle returns.

Colts 30, Commanders 13

Big performances: Jonathan Taylor ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. His 22.7 PPR points came with 21 total touches. Indianapolis got the fantasy result it needed through its featured back.

Letdowns: Josh Downs recorded 4.6 PPR points despite a 77% snap share. Washington’s receivers faced an offense forced to change quarterbacks early; a disappointing result here needs that context.

Health and next move: Marcus Mariota left with a knee injury, later reported as an MCL sprain, while Jayden Daniels was already sidelined with his elbow injury. Rookie Athan Kaliakmanis finished the game. Jaylin Lane’s ankle injury was reported Monday as a fracture and dislocation, with further testing underway. Watch the quarterback decision before upgrading any Washington pass catcher.

Ravens 24, Titans 18

Big performances: Zay Flowers caught eight passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. Carnell Tate caught nine passes for 145 yards for Tennessee. Lamar Jackson threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns before halftime, giving fantasy managers production before the injury changed the game.

Letdowns: Calvin Ridley returned 2.3 PPR points and Tyjae Spears 1.6. Baltimore won without scoring in the second half, a reminder that losing the starting quarterback can change the entire offense.

Health and next move: Jackson did not return after hurting his ankle. Early reporting described him as day-to-day, not cleared for Week 5. Tyler Huntley is a contingency option for superflex managers. Track Jackson’s practice participation before finalizing expectations for Flowers and the rest of the Ravens.

Patriots 29, Bills 26

Big performances: Romeo Doubs caught six passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns, good for 23.8 PPR points. Keon Coleman answered with six catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. Rhamondre Stevenson delivered 18.4 PPR points; Efton Chism III supplied the late winning touchdown.

Letdowns: TreVeyon Henderson’s 14 carries produced 4.2 PPR points. Dalton Kincaid managed one catch and 1.7 points. Henderson received work; the work did not turn into a useful fantasy day.

Health and next move: DJ Moore aggravated his shoulder injury. Mack Hollins (calf) and Eli Raridon (ankle) also failed to finish. Coleman and Khalil Shakir deserve a fresh target review while Buffalo evaluates Moore.

Bears 23, Jets 12

Big performances: Kyle Monangai carried 30 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns. His 31 touches produced 28.0 PPR points. Rome Odunze added six catches for 94 yards. Tyson Bagent kept Chicago moving while Caleb Williams remained out.

Letdowns: D’Andre Swift scored 7.4 PPR points; Garrett Wilson scored 5.7. Braelon Allen led the Jets’ backfield but finished with 8.7. Chicago’s control of possession sharply limited New York’s chances.

Health and next move: Ben Johnson said Monangai injured his thumb. Check the follow-up before treating him as an automatic Week 5 upgrade. Johnson said Monday that Bagent will start against Green Bay while Williams remains sidelined with his hamstring injury.

Jaguars 22, Bengals 17

Big performances: Brenton Strange caught seven passes for 85 yards. Tee Higgins caught 11 for 157 before leaving late. Chase Brown’s 11 catches for 71 yards rescued his PPR day despite Cincinnati’s poor rushing output. Joe Burrow threw for 428 yards, but two interceptions hurt.

Letdown—and our miss: Parker Washington caught one pass for seven yards and ran once for three. We ranked him WR1 ahead of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. That call was wrong. A late gain overturned on replay is not an excuse for a 2.0-point outcome. Trevor Lawrence threw only 23 passes; Strange, not Washington, commanded the largest share of those targets.

Health and next move: Ja’Marr Chase left with a concussion and Higgins suffered an adductor injury. Cincinnati’s official postgame comments confirmed both. Dohnte Meyers and Mitch Tinsley are conditional waiver candidates, especially in deep leagues, while the starters’ status develops.

Cowboys 34, Texans 30

Big performances: CeeDee Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards and the winning touchdown. Javonte Williams scored three rushing touchdowns. Houston’s Nico Collins delivered 30.8 PPR points. This game supplied multiple lineup-changing performances.

Letdowns: George Pickens finished at 9.5 PPR points while Jake Ferguson managed 4.1. David Montgomery posted 4.3 for Houston. Sharing a productive offense did not guarantee sharing its fantasy production.

Health and next move: Houston lost cornerback Jaylin Smith to a hamstring injury. For fantasy purposes, separate the massive workloads from touchdown assumptions: Williams’ role is valuable, but three rushing scores are not a weekly baseline.

Giants 36, Cardinals 24

Big performances: Malik Nabers caught six passes for 112 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Likely received 12 targets and caught seven passes. Michael Wilson returned 16.5 PPR points for Arizona, giving managers useful volume even in a loss.

Letdowns: Marvin Harrison Jr. caught just one pass; his touchdown softened an otherwise thin receiving day. Cam Skattebo scored 7.6 PPR points on 19 touches. Trey McBride’s 10.1 was useful enough in some formats, but below the ceiling managers expect from that much opportunity.

Health and next move: Arizona lost Hunter Long to a knee injury and Paris Johnson Jr. suffered a biceps injury. Follow the offensive-line news when evaluating this backfield. Nabers’ workload keeps him central to New York’s offense.

Rams 24, Eagles 20

Big performances: Kyren Williams totaled 147 scrimmage yards on 26 touches and scored twice. Ten receptions helped him reach 36.7 PPR points. Puka Nacua returned with nine catches for 125 yards and a rushing touchdown. The Rams’ lead weapons delivered.

Letdowns: Davante Adams finished with 7.2 PPR points despite nine targets. Philadelphia’s rushing replacements supplied little scoring after Saquon Barkley left. Do not confuse the Eagles’ 20 real points with a healthy, reliable fantasy offense.

Health and next move: Barkley was ruled out with a hamstring injury. Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley both need attention if he misses time. The Rams lost Konata Mumpfield to a shoulder injury; Philadelphia also lost Jonathan Greenard (ankle) and Quinyon Mitchell (knee).

Packers 17, Buccaneers 14

Big performances: Tucker Kraft scored and delivered 16.5 PPR points. Matthew Golden posted 11.7. Green Bay found enough offense to win, but this was a lean fantasy environment for most skill players.

Letdowns: Christian Watson finished at 7.7 PPR points. Emeka Egbuka managed 3.3 for Tampa Bay; Bucky Irving’s 16 carries yielded 6.1. Managers expecting a ceiling game from the passing attacks were disappointed.

Health and next move: Edgerrin Cooper left with an Achilles injury; Matt LaFleur said postgame he suspected Cooper would miss the rest of the season. That matters for IDP and future matchups. Tampa Bay was working with rookie Jalon Daniels at quarterback, another reason to temper immediate receiving projections.

Vikings 15, Dolphins 10

Big performances: T.J. Hockenson caught 13 passes for 119 yards, scoring 24.9 PPR points without a touchdown. Ollie Gordon II ran for 100 yards and a touchdown for Miami. Aaron Jones added 16.8 PPR points.

Letdowns: Jordan Addison scored 9.1 PPR points and Jauan Jennings 1.8. Minnesota won entirely on field goals. Justin Jefferson’s absence did not automatically create a huge day for every other receiver.

Health and next move: Jefferson was out with an ankle injury. Minnesota lost Donovan Jackson (knee), and Christian Darrisaw was evaluated for a concussion and did not return. Follow the line’s health along with Jefferson’s status. Gordon has put himself firmly in the waiver discussion.

Chiefs 30, Raiders 27

Big performances: Kenneth Walker III ran for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Tyquan Thornton caught five passes for 111 yards and two scores before his injury. Brock Bowers delivered 20.6 PPR points; Michael Mayer added eight receptions and 16.2.

Letdowns: Travis Kelce scored 3.5 PPR points. Rashee Rice left early without a reception. Kelce’s modest output came in a game where Kansas City scored 30, so the team total alone is no reassurance.

Health and next move: Rice hurt his hamstring, which Andy Reid described as a tweak. Thornton was carted off; NFL Network reported a dislocated ankle and an indefinite absence pending further evaluation. Jalen Nailor left with a concussion. Kansas City is on bye in Week 5. Plan replacements now, then reassess the receiver room for Week 6.

Seahawks 30, Chargers 23

Big performances: Emanuel Wilson scored once on the ground and once through the air, producing 27.0 PPR points on 24 touches. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught five passes for 76 yards. His 12.6 PPR points beat Washington comfortably, though our No. 2 receiver projection missed his ceiling too.

Letdowns: Cooper Kupp scored 2.3 PPR points and AJ Barner 2.2. Ladd McConkey failed to catch a pass before leaving. Injury context is essential to reading that zero.

Health and next move: McConkey left with a foot injury; the Chargers also lost Joe Alt (neck) and Rashawn Slater (ankle). Seattle already had Jadarian Price on injured reserve. Mike Macdonald said Monday that Zach Charbonnet will not play Week 5, strengthening Wilson’s near-term opportunity.

49ers 24, Broncos 14

Big performances: RJ Harvey caught 10 passes, helping him reach 19.3 PPR points. George Kittle scored and returned 17.0. Deebo Samuel supplied 18.0 and Christian McCaffrey 16.0 as San Francisco stayed unbeaten.

Letdowns: Courtland Sutton caught one pass and scored 1.4 PPR points. Evan Engram managed 1.6. Their low scores came despite six and five targets, respectively, giving managers a different problem from a receiver who is barely playing.

Health and next move: Denver lost Patrick Surtain II (ankle), Riley Moss (ribs) and Pat Bryant (ankle); Monday reporting said Bryant could miss multiple weeks. Kyle Juszczyk’s knee injury remained under evaluation, with an MRI planned. Monitor the effect on personnel and blocking before making matchup assumptions.

Panthers 32, Lions 26

Big performances: Tetairoa McMillan caught 14 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns: 45.2 PPR points. Chuba Hubbard ran for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Bryce Young threw for 329 yards and two scores; Jared Goff answered with 412 passing yards. Sam LaPorta caught eight passes and delivered 22.4 PPR points.

Letdowns: Amon-Ra St. Brown’s 15.5 PPR points were respectable but short of a matchup-winning ceiling. Jahmyr Gibbs finished with 77 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown, below our aggressive 31.5-point projection. Strong offenses can still fall short of high fantasy expectations.

Health and next move: Carolina played without Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker. Detroit lost Rock Ya-Sin to a hamstring injury. The Panthers are on bye in Week 5. Enjoy McMillan’s breakout, keep him rostered and arrange a replacement rather than searching for him in this week’s lineup rankings.

Falcons at Saints: Monday night remains pending

There is no completed result or Week 4 snap sample for Atlanta or New Orleans at publication. For tonight, follow active/inactive news and the latest rankings. After the game, use the report to check Bijan Robinson’s workload, New Orleans’ backfield split and Chris Olave’s target opportunity. Jordyn Tyson remained on injured reserve; Monday reporting put his earliest expected return at Week 7.

The bounce-back plan

Prioritize roles that can carry forward: Wilson’s workload and Seattle’s injury picture put him high on the waiver checklist. Monangai’s usage earns an upgrade if his thumb allows it. Bigsby and Shipley are conditional claims if Barkley misses time. Meyers and Tinsley matter more in deep formats if Cincinnati’s starters cannot go.

Keep the right kind of patience: Washington, Sutton and Egbuka all retained substantial playing time. That supports a closer review before a panic drop. It does not guarantee a rebound or the same weekly ranking. Targets, health and the next matchup must earn the next start.

Plan around the byes: Carolina and Kansas City are off in Week 5. Have replacements ready for McMillan, Hubbard, Walker, Mahomes, Kelce and the Chiefs receivers. In deep championship leagues, usable snaps can make a stash worthwhile; in shallow home leagues, compare that upside with the starters already available.
