There are a few elite quarterbacks in the NFL and you want a piece of their offense from a Fantasy Football perspective. Aaron Rodgers is one of them. The Packers quarterback only played in seven games last season due to injury but he should be back to his normal elite self by the time the season kicks off.

Two years ago, Rodgers passed for 4,428 yards and 40 touchdowns. Davante Adams is the primary receiver and being selected in the second round of most drafts. While Jimmy Graham was added, there has to be another receiver or two that has significant Fantasy value under Rodgers.
Jordy Nelson is gone and it creates a huge opportunity for Randall Cobb. The Packers No. 2 wide receiver usually finishes in the Top 25 since Rodgers is so efficient. In 2014, Cobb had 127 targets and caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. The following season, Cobb caught 79 of his 129 targets for 829 yards and six touchdowns.
Cobb had some injuries in 2016, struggled and wasn’t as good with Rodgers missing so much time. Brett Hundley struggled to build chemistry with Cobb, who hasn’t been as efficient since his big season in 2014. However, we all know that volume is key in Fantasy Football.Â
Over the last five seasons under Rodgers, the No. 2 wide receiver in the Packers’ offense has averaged 108 targets and 9.8 touchdowns. The Packers decided to let Nelson go and keep Cobb, who counts for $12.6 million against the salary cap in 2018. That’s a big investment and implies the Packers believe in Cobb.
As long as Cobb is a starting receiver in the offense, the targets will be there. The best part is Cobb isn’t being drafted too early. Cobb is going in the seventh to eighth round as a WR3/4. He’s worth that price because he can easily catch 80 passes for 1,000 yards with 7-9 touchdowns.
One thing to keep in mind is Cobb was seen in a walking boot on his right foot in June and could miss some time in training camp. Cobb participated in OTAs and he said the boot was temporary, but wouldn’t disclose if he had surgery. He is expected to be ready for the start of the season.
As long as this injury isn’t serious, Cobb is worth a pick. He has already finished as a Top 25 WR in PPR formats three times and he should top 100 targets in 2018. Comeback ALERT!
