AMERICAN LEAGUE

SP Brett Anderson, Oakland Athletics

Anderson is on the DL with a left shoulder strain.

SS Elvis Andrus, Texas Rangers

Andrus has a fractured right elbow and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks from the time he went on the DL on April 13.

3B Tim Beckham, Baltimore Orioles

Beckham had core muscle surgery and is expected to return in June.

3B Adrian Beltre, Texas Rangers

Beltre is on the DL with a Grade 1 hamstring strain and is still several weeks away.

1B Greg Bird, New York Yankees

Bird could be activated in a week. He is batting .174 in eight rehab games.

RP Zach Britton, Baltimore Orioles

Britton is scheduled to throw a simulated game May 22 and start a rehab assignment with Triple-A on May 30.

1B Miguel Cabrera, Detroit Tigers

Cabrera is on the DL with a right hamstring strain. He took batting practice over the weekend and is expected to run and field grounders this week.

3B Jeimer Candelario, Detroit Tigers

Candelario is out with left wrist tendonitis. An MRI came back clean. The Tigers put him on the DL to give him more rest since the wrist has been an issue all season. He fielded grounders on May 17.

2B Robinson Cano, Seattle Mariners

Cano has a fifth metacarpal bone fracture in his right hand after being hit by a pitch Sunday. He is out indefinitely and suspended for 80 games.

C Jason Castro, Minnesota Twins

Castro had surgery to repair a torn meniscus and will miss the rest of the season.

SP Yonny Chirinos, Tampa Bay Rays

He’s on the DL with a mild flexor strain in his right forearm.

OF Lonnie Chisenhall, Cleveland Indians

Chisenhall is out with a right calf strain and has started a rehab assignment. He went 2-for-2 with an RBI double in his first rehab game at Triple-A on Monday.

OF Khris Davis, Oakland Athletics

Davis has a groin injury, and comments from manager Bob Melvin on Monday indicated Davis would go on the DL.

OF Nicky Delmonico, Chicago White Sox

He had a fractured right hand and was placed on the DL.

SS Aledmys Diaz, Toronto Blue Jays

Diaz is on the DL with a left ankle sprain. He has started to hit and could be back by the end of the month.

1B Lucas Duda, Kansas City Royals

Duda was placed on the 10-day DL with right foot plantar fasciitis.

OF Derek Fisher, Houston Astros

Fisher was placed on the 10-day DL with gastrointestinal discomfort. J.D. Davis was called up to take his roster spot.

SS Adeiny Hechavarria, Tampa Bay Rays

He is on the 10-day DL with a right hamstring strain.

OF Avisail Garcia, Chicago White Sox

Garcia is on the DL with a right hamstring strain. An MRI showed there’s still a strain and he had PRP injections.

SP Jaime Garcia, Toronto Blue Jays

Garcia is out with left shoulder inflammation.

OF Carlos Gomez, Tampa Bay Rays

Gomez is out with a right groin strain.

SP Miguel Gonzalez, Chicago White Sox

He is on the DL with right rotator cuff inflammation and has been shut down from throwing.

OF Randal Grichuk, Toronto Blue Jays

Grichuk is out with a sprained PCL and is set to begin a rehab assignment with High-A Dunedin.

OF Kevin Kiermaier, Tampa Bay Rays

Kiermaier has a torn ligament in his right thumb and is expected to miss 8-12 weeks.

1B Joe Mauer, Minnesota Twins

He is on the DL with concussion-like symptoms.

RP Keynan Middleton, Los Angeles Angels

Middleton will have Tommy John surgery and is out for the season. Blake Parker is the favorite to close for now. He picked up a save in a 5-2 win Sunday.

SP Matt Moore, Texas Rangers

Moore is out with right knee soreness.

SP Jordan Montgomery, New York Yankees

Montgomery is on the DL with a left elbow strain.

OF Tyler Naquin, Cleveland Indians

Naquin is on the 10-day DL with a left hamstring strain.

SP Daniel Norris, Detroit Tigers

Norris had groin surgery and is expected to miss 8-12 weeks.

RP Darren O’Day, Baltimore Orioles

O’Day is on the DL with a hyperextended right elbow. He will likely need a rehab assignment before being activated.

2B Dustin Pedroia, Boston Red Sox

Pedroia has been playing in extended spring training and began a rehab assignment at Triple-A. He will play games Tuesday and Wednesday before being re-evaluated.

SP Martin Perez, Texas Rangers

Perez was placed on the 10-day DL with discomfort in his right elbow. He had surgery on the non-throwing elbow in December and played catch last week.

SP Carlos Rodon, Chicago White Sox

Rodon is working in extended spring training games and is on a rehab assignment.

3B Miguel Sano, Minnesota Twins

Sano is on the DL with a left hamstring strain and is on a rehab assignment.

SP Ervin Santana, Minnesota Twins

Santana threw 50 pitches in a bullpen session May 17 and is scheduled to participate in extended spring training games this week.

SP Matt Shoemaker, Los Angeles Angels

Shoemaker was out with a forearm strain and experienced pain during a bullpen session last week. He did some light throwing Sunday but was transferred to the 60-day DL.

SP Marcus Stroman, Toronto Blue Jays

Stroman is on the 10-day DL with right shoulder fatigue.

SP Andrew Triggs, Oakland Athletics

Triggs is on the DL with right arm nerve irritation.

OF Bradley Zimmer, Cleveland Indians

Zimmer is on the DL with a left rib contusion.

SP Jordan Zimmermann, Detroit Tigers

Zimmermann is on the 10-day DL with a right shoulder impingement. He threw off a mound Thursday and will need multiple rehab starts before he returns.

OF/1B Ryan Braun, Milwaukee Brewers

Braun is on the 10-day DL with back tightness.

SP Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants

Bumgarner had left hand surgery in March and threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Friday. He’s scheduled to throw to live hitters May 22 before a rehab start May 26.

OF Yoenis Cespedes, New York Mets

Cespedes is on the DL with a mild right hip flexor strain. He’s unlikely to return from the DL Thursday. He’s only getting treatment and hasn’t done any baseball activities yet.

SS J.P. Crawford, Philadelphia Phillies

He landed on the DL with a strained right forearm. He is taking batting practice and is close to a rehab assignment.

SP Johnny Cueto, San Francisco Giants

Cueto has right elbow inflammation and is expected to miss eight weeks. He was placed on the 60-day DL and will start some rehab work in Arizona this week.

SP Zach Davies, Milwaukee Brewers

Davies is out with right rotator cuff inflammation and will return Thursday against the Mets.

SS Paul DeJong, St. Louis Cardinals

DeJong will miss several weeks with a fractured left hand.

OF Adam Eaton, Washington Nationals

Eaton had arthroscopic surgery to remove cartilage from his left ankle on May 10, and he’s expected to return in six weeks. He played catch on Sunday.

3B Todd Frazier, New York Mets

Frazier is on the DL with a left hamstring strain. He’s still feeling it when he runs. He’s going to do some hitting this week and will likely need a rehab assignment.

RP Luke Gregerson, St. Louis Cardinals

Gregerson is on the DL with a right shoulder impingement.

2B Alen Hanson, San Francisco Giants

Hanson was placed on the DL with a left hamstring strain. He’s unlikely to be activated when eligible May 23.

C Austin Hedges, San Diego Padres

Hedges is out with right elbow tendonitis and is playing in extended spring training games this week.

SP Rich Hill, Los Angeles Dodgers

Yes, it’s difficult to believe that Hill is out again. He threw two pitches on Saturday and left with a blister, a recurring issue for him. He will miss at least four weeks.

C Carson Kelly, St. Louis Cardinals

Kelly is on the 10-day DL with a right hamstring strain. He could be activated when first eligible on Saturday.

OF Howie Kendrick, Washington Nationals

Kendrick has a ruptured right Achilles and will miss the rest of the season.

SP Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers

Kershaw is on the DL with left biceps tendonitis. He will throw a bullpen session Wednesday and throw a simulated game Saturday.

OF Juan Lagares, New York Mets

Lagares has a torn left big toe plantar plate and will miss the rest of the season.

2B DJ LeMahieu, Colorado Rockies

He was placed on the 10-day DL with a left thumb fracture. He doesn’t need surgery and could resume baseball activities in mid-June.

RP Dominic Leone, St. Louis Cardinals

Leone is out with right upper arm nerve irritation. He does not need surgery.

SP Joey Lucchesi, San Diego Padres

He is on the DL with a right hip strain. He has played catch from 75 feet.

RP Ryan Madson, Washington Nationals

Madson is on the DL with a chest muscle strain.

OF Starling Marte, Pittsburgh Pirates

Marte is on the 10-day DL with a right oblique strain.

SP Carlos Martinez, St. Louis Cardinals

Martinez is on the DL with a right lat strain. He was expected to miss one start, but an MRI revealed he wouldn’t be ready. He had a long-toss session Monday and felt fine.

SP Wade Miley, Milwaukee Brewers

Miley is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a right oblique strain.

C Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals

Molina had groin surgery May 5 and is expected to miss one month.

2B Daniel Murphy, Washington Nationals

Murphy is recovering from right knee microfracture surgery in October and did light running last week. He hasn’t done much over the last week due to illness. He is expected to start a rehab assignment soon.

SP Joe Musgrove, Pittsburgh Pirates

Musgrove has been dealing with a sore shoulder since the spring and will make his season debut Friday.

OF Wil Myers, San Diego Padres

Myers is out with a left oblique strain and won’t return until June at the earliest.

2B Joe Panik, San Francisco Giants

Panik was placed on the 10-day DL with a sprained left thumb. He had surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will miss six weeks.

OF Hunter Pence, San Francisco Giants

Pence is on the DL with a sprained right thumb and is on a rehab assignment.

Pollock has a left thumb fracture and is expected to miss 4-8 weeks. He doesn’t need surgery.

SP Robbie Ray, Arizona Diamondbacks

Ray is on the DL with a right oblique strain. He played catch from 75 feet on May 18.

OF Hunter Renfroe, San Diego Padres

Renfroe is on the DL with right elbow inflammation and is on a rehab assignment.

SP Alex Reyes, St. Louis Cardinals

Reyes allowed one hit, two walks and struck out 12 in five scoreless innings in a rehab start at Low-A Peoria on Monday. He followed up with a dominant start at Double-A Springfield, striking out 13 with three walks and one hit in 7.2 innings. He could return at the end of the month. Add him now if he’s available.

SP Hyun-Jin Ryu, Los Angels Dodgers

Ryu tore the groin muscle off the bone and is expected to be back after the All-Star break.

SP Mike Soroka, Atlanta Braves

Soroka is out with right shoulder inflammation. The Braves took the cautious approach with the young right-hander and put him in the DL.

OF Steven Souza, Arizona Diamondbacks

Souza recently came back from a pectoral injury and left a game last week with soreness in the pectoral. An MRI revealed inflammation, and he’s day-to-day. He struck out as a pinch hitter Monday.

1B Eric Thames, Milwaukee Brewers

He had surgery to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb and is expected to return in late June. He started to rehab in Arizona last week.

SP Adam Wainwright, St. Louis Cardinals

Wainwright is on the 60-day DL with right elbow inflammation.

C Matt Wieters, Washington Nationals

Wieters is on the DL with a left hamstring strain. He had surgery to remove a tendon on May 17.

OF Mac Williamson, San Francisco Giants

He is on the DL with concussion symptoms and started a rehab assignment May 18.

1B Ryan Zimmerman, Washington Nationals

Zimmerman is on the DL with back soreness.
