Only three games tonight so this will serve as more of a cheat sheet than anything else since Rob has a full breakdown in The Point Shot.
LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT: Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Kuznetsov, Tom Wilson – Washington Capitals
With Ovi slumping a little bit and Kuzy playing so well since the all-star break the Capitals have shifted their lines up and even went back to this line late in the game the other night. There is plenty of reason to love Kuzy given how well he is skating right now and generating scoring chances and Ovechkin on a short three game slate should be the highest owned player tonight because of his shot volume and the fact that he’s really due for a huge game in my mind.
FAVORITE STUD ONE OFF: Evander Kane – San Jose Sharks
Plugging in Kane and Ovi together tonight is going to be tough but they’re the best higher priced wingers on this slate and only Vik Arvidsson has more goals since Jan 1st than Kane. Skating with Tomas Hertl has made this combination very deadly and I would really try to correlate them together if you can. During that same span Hertl has 11 goals to Kane’s 13 goals. Facing Vancouver tonight they should be able to continue that trend.
FAVORITE VALUE ONE OFF: Josh Leivo – Vancouver Canucks
Others to consider: Joonas Donskoi, Scott Laughton
FAVORITE DEFENSE: Ivan Provorov – Philadelphia Flyers
Others to consider: Brent Burns, Ben Hutton, Matt Niskanen, Dmitry Orlov
SMALL FIELD SINGLE ENTRY STACK (i.e. Safest Bet): Kuznetsov, Ovechkin, Wilson, Orlov – Washington Capitals
Why Orlov? I wanted a fourth Capital for the stack and we need as much value as we can get. Orlov see’s PP time with the second unit and is $800 less than Niskanen who was the other one in consideration.
LARGE FIELD SINGLE ENTRY STACK (i.e. Medium Risk): Hertl, Kane, Donskoi, Burns – San Jose Sharks
The value on Donskoi allows me to get Burns in
MME SINGLE BULLET STACK (i.e. Longshot): Peettersson, Boeser, Leivo, Hutton – Vancouver Canucks
This is a really solid line so don’t expect it to be 2% owned on a 3 game slate, but it should be much lower than 4 of the other 5 teams tonight.
MY GOALIE
Strong night to correlate goalie with a stack, but if you don’t then go with the phenom.
