Friday, September 20th
So I wish the roof was open in Arizona but its cloudy and they have it as closed.
That said. Im just gonna go ahead and plug in Mr. Goldschmidt at 1B tonight. Bigger question is obviously the pitching, its very thin. BAL/TOR, BOS/TB games are no’s for all pitchers. Cant expect Snell to go long. I kinda view this as a short 3 game slate so I like the idea of game stacking arms in the other three spots. Or you can take the full chalk of Matz & Corbin and just have cheap bats everywhere….
That’s your cliff notes for tonight
WEATHER
All games play
Patrick Corbin
Corbin should have a higher ceiling than Matz but I like Segura and Kingery to give him a little bit of fits at least one time through the order. Corbin’s very reliable and the Nationals are obviously playing for postseason baseball this week and can take a big step with a big series win against the Phils who have played them well in DC all year.
Steven Matz
If you wanna go leverage against anyone like Matz I would do it with Caleb Smith who should be VERY low owned tonight on the other side.
CHALK: Waino & Matz
CONTRARIAN: Caleb Smith, Clay Suckholz
STACK OF THE DAY
ST LOUIS
Paul Goldschmidt returns to Chase Field to face a lefty — who can be hit hard — not much more analysis needed on him but I like Edman and Molina as well and we know DeJong/Ozuna can poke one out of any park.
OTHER TEAMS TO TARGET
Orioles vs Blue Jays … Best pitching staffs/openers/starters to target is here. Billy McKinney chalk leading off on Toronto side.
Tampa … Nobody will touch Tampa in a bad ballpark but Chacin and Johnson offer great spots to target.
Nationals … Don’t hate em, especially the lefties but they’re a bit overpriced for the slate.
