RECEIVING YARDS ALLOWED BY POSITION
This tool is FREE THIS WEEK TO EVERYONE! We want to make sure you make the playoffs.
This new featured tool displays how each defense performs against their opponent’s receiving yardage gained by position.
So for example, if you see a team is ranked 1st vs. WR #1, that defense is currently the best at limiting their opponent’s WR #1 yardage compared to other teams. Or if you see a team is ranked 32nd against WR #2, that defense is the worst against WR #2’s or more accurately, the defense is allowing the most yards to WR #2’s compared to the other teams in the league. This a great tool to find and exploit useful matchups. Don’t forget to check out all the positions as well (WR #1, WR #2, Other WRs, TE & RB).
Defensive Back Update
Derwin James (S) Los Angeles Chargers
James was forced from Thursday Night Football with a hamstring injury and was not able to return. He is an elite-level safety and any extended absence would be a huge blow to the Chargers’ defense and a boost to the opposing offense. The Chargers take on Brandin Cooks and the Texans Week 16.
Chuck Clark (S) Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens lose yet another member of their secondary this week. This time due to Covid. Losing any bodies in the defensive backfield is a tough blow at this point and an unneeded upgrade for the Green Bay Packers’ receivers. More specifically Davante Adams. He should light up Baltimore this week.
Ronnie Harrison (S) Cleveland Browns
Harrison has landed on the reserve/Covid list and will miss this week’s game. The Browns have been decimated by Covid this week and the loss of Harrison is another tough loss. Hunter Renfrow and the Raiders’ pass-catchers should take full advantage on Saturday.
Chidobe Awuzie (CB) Cincinnati Bengals
Awuzie has been outstanding this season and is undoubtedly the Bengals top corner. Unfortunately, he has been placed on the reserve/Covid list and is unlikely to play this week. Assuming he does sit this one out you can confidently upgrade Jerry Jeudy. The only concern is the fact that his quarterback is Teddy Bridgewater and he’s not someone it feels good to have to rely on.
Jalen Ramsey (CB) Los Angeles Rams
Ramsey landed on the reserve/Covid list prior to Monday Night Football last week and is yet to be cleared of the protocol. His status for Week 15 is currently unclear. If he is forced to sit out another game it would be a huge upgrade to D.K. Metcalf, who already gets a bit of a boost due to Tyler Lockett landing on I.R.
Erik Harris (S) Atlanta Falcons
Harris will miss the remainder of the season with a torn pec. While not great in coverage he had become a solid tackler and every-down player. An already terrible secondary didn’t need to lose another starter. However, the 49ers’ wideouts were already going to enjoy an outstanding matchup this week. It’s tough to boost them any higher than they already are.
Jevon Holland (S) Miami Dolphins
The outstanding rookie safety has landed on the reserve/Covid list this week and is in danger of sitting this one out. It’s a tough loss for the Miami defense. Luckily they play the lowly Jets and should be able to get by without him. With Elijah Moore sidelined no one is starting any Jets wideouts anyway, but this would help them out had they had a good player on their offense or a competent quarterback.
Brandon Jones (S) Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have been hit hard by Covid this week and will likely lose Jevon Holland against the Jets. The good news is they are also expected to get Brandon Jones back from an elbow injury. He is a playmaker who will cause havoc for an already inept Jets offense. This is bad news for whatever terrible wide receivers the Jets are trotting out there on Sunday.
