Fantasy Football: Championship Week Deep Sleepers

Here are your Championship Week Deep Sleepers from Senior Fantasy Football Expert Adam Ronis in case if you are in need of a hail mary play.

QB Nick Foles vs. HOU

While Foles didn’t get a touchdown last week in a win over the Rams, Foles went 24-for-31 for 270 yards with an interception. Foles averaged 8.7 yards per attempt and wasn’t sacked. The Texans have struggled to stop quarterbacks the last four games, allowing 303, 399, 397 and 253 passing yards and seven passing touchdowns. The Eagles are two-point favorites against the first-place Texans.

RB Mike Davis vs. KC

Rashaad Penny is expected to be out again, and Davis produced in his absence last week. Davis played 33 snaps and had five carries for 21 yards and caught all eight of his targets for 63 yards against the 49ers in an overtime game. Chris Carson is the lead back and will get the majority of the touches, but Davis can get double-digit touches and catch several passes. The Seahawks will pass more than usual if the Chiefs offense continues to put up points. The Chiefs allow the most Fantasy points to running backs and allow 5.06 yards per carry.

RB Kalen Ballage vs. JAX

After Frank Gore left last week with an injury, Ballage was the main back in the backfield. He had 13 touches compared to four for Kenyan Drake, who Adam Gase doesn’t trust. Gase said Ballage has shown well in practice and had a 75-yard touchdown run against the Vikings and finished with 12 carries for 123 yards. The Jaguars have allowed 373 rushing yards the last two weeks.

WR Robert Foster @NE

In four of the last five games, Foster has at least 94 receiving yards. He has consecutive 100-yard games. He had 13 targets the last two games and caught 11. The Bills aren’t throwing often, but when they do, it’s taking shots at Foster downfield. Against the Patriots, the Bills will likely be throwing more often as big underdogs. Foster is excellent after the catch, and the Patriots have been prone to allowing big plays.

WR Tim Patrick @OAK

Patrick has seen more snaps the last two games and produced. Last week, he caught five passes for 65 yards on eight targets against the Browns and had seven catches for 85 yards on ten targets the week before against the 49ers. He led the team in receiving yards both weeks and is a big target (6-foot-4) with speed. The Raiders secondary has allowed 20 touchdowns to wide receivers and could be without Gareon Conley. They have allowed eight touchdowns to wide receivers the last five games.

TE Blake Jarwin vs. TB

After the top tight ends, it’s a roll of the dice. Jarwin could be on a lot of waiver wires, and he’s become more involved in the offense the last two weeks. Jarwin caught all seven of his targets for 56 yards in Week 14 and had four catches for 45 yards on seven targets last week.
