Week 13 Deep Sleepers – Here Comes Josh Doctson

Senior Fantasy Football Expert Adam Ronis points out a few Week 13 deep sleepers you may want to submit into your starting lineup.

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson

QB Case Keenum @CIN

With the bye weeks finished, most teams are in great shape at quarterback. There are plenty of good option, but if you’re in bad shape or digging deep, Keenum is an option. Keenum hasn’t been great, but the matchup against the Bengals one of the best. The Bengals have allowed at least three touchdown passes to four of the last five quarterbacks they have faced, and the one they didn’t was against Lamar Jackson in Week 11 when he attempted 19 passes and ran 27 times. The Bengals have allowed 25 passing touchdowns and 292 passing yards per game.

RB Ty Montgomery @ATL

The Ravens are going extremely run-heavy with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. Montgomery played his most snaps since coming over to the Ravens last week with 28. He had eight carries for 51 yards and three catches for 13 yards. Gus Edwards hasn’t been targeted in the last two games in which he led the backfield in carries. The Falcons have allowed 695 receiving yards and four touchdowns to running backs.

RB Justin Jackson @PIT

With the Kareem Hunt being released, Leonard Fournette being suspended and Melvin Gordon injured, those in deeper leagues might need to turn to Jackson. Austin Ekeler will get most of the touches, especially in the passing game, but the Chargers used Jackson after Gordon left the game last week. He played 13 snaps and had seven carries for 57 yards. He’s athletic and can make defenders miss. Gordon was out in Week 7, and Ekeler played 42 of 44 snaps and had 17 touches, including 12 carries. Jackson played five snaps that week but should play more this week.

WR Josh Doctson @PHI

Doctson is coming off a game in which he had ten targets against the Cowboys and caught six passes for 66 yards. When Colt McCoy replaced Alex Smith in Week 11, he targeted Doctson five times. With McCoy at quarterback, Doctson sees 31 percent of the target share. Doctson has 17 targets over the last two games and has at least nine points in PPR formats in four of the last five games. The Eagles secondary has been decimated by injuries and has allowed the second-most Fantasy points to wide receivers.

WR Bruce Ellington vs. LAR

The Lions are extremely thin at wide receiver. Ellington began the season with the Texans and made his Lions debut in Week 11. In the two weeks without Marvin Jones, Ellington has 16 targets. He had six catches for 52 yards against the Panthers and six catches for 28 yards against the Bears last week. The Rams have struggled against the pass, allowing 18 touchdowns to wide receivers. The Lions should be playing from behind and passing often, leading to more targets for Ellington.

TE Matt LaCosse @CIN

Jeff Heuerman is out for the season, and LaCosse will step into his role. The Broncos have been throwing to the tight end 7.5 times per game. LaCosse played 27 snaps against the Steelers last week and caught three of four targets for 34 yards with a touchdown. The Bengals allow the second-most Fantasy points to tight ends and have allowed four touchdowns to tight ends over the last five games.
