If we learned anything from Week 6 it’s that being proactive and actively engaging the waiver wire is vital towards building a championship fantasy football roster. Week 6 featured several prominent performances from players scooped up in free agency and the upcoming bye weeks only increases the odds of that happening again.

Here are the key low-owned players for fantasy football fans to be aware of ahead of Week 7, with our remaining FAAB spending recommendations.

FAAB denotes free agent acquisition budget

Week 7 NFL byes: Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers

Michael Thomas (WR) New Orleans Saints (33% FAAB) – Most likely, Thomas is rostered in your league, but if he happens to be available, make a strong bid. The Saints aren’t throwing the ball near as much as they have in the past but that could change when they get their WR1 back in the mix. Thomas is eligible to come off of IR this week but isn’t expected to play for another week or two. When he is active,  Thoma has the potential to be a difference-making weekly WR2 for fantasy managers who can afford to fill a bench spot.

Alex Collins (RB) Seattle Seahawks (20% FAAB) – The Seahawks placed Chris Carson on IR prior to Week 6. That means Carson will miss at least two more weeks. Collins filled in just fine, rushing 20 times for 101 yards and a score before getting hurt. As long as Carson is healthy and has the backfield to himself, he’s a weekly RB2. That may be only for two more weeks, but Carson is worth a strong FAAB bid, depending on…

Thursday Night Football games sometimes involve losing teams that are forced to trot out an abbreviated playbook. This often leads to sloppy, low-scoring games that leave a little something to be desired.

That won’t be the case in Week 6 as the 4-1 defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers bring their high-octane offense into Lincoln Financial Field to take on the 2-3 Philadelphia Eagles in a game that featured the third-highest over/under (52.5) total on the Week 6 slate.

So what can fantasy football and sports betting fans expect to see in tonight’s matchup?

It’s hard to believe we’re already preparing for Week 6. The 2021 NFL season is flying by and to complicate matters, the pesky bye weeks have arrived.

In addition to bye weeks complicating free agency, myriad injuries are piling up, making Week 6 the most crucial waiver period so far.

Here are the top low-owned free agents for fantasy football managers to targets ahead of Week 6.

FAAB denotes free agent acquisition budget

Darrel Williams (RB) Kansas City Chiefs (15% FAAB) – Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s sprained left MCL will keep him out for several weeks. Darrell Williams now becomes the starting running back on a potent offense. Williams will split time with Jerrick McKinnon, but it’s Williams who would command most of the carries and fill the short-yardage role, giving him weekly RB2/3 value.

Kadarius Toney (WR) New York Giants (15% FAAB) – Toney blew up last week and will undoubtedly be one of the most popular waiver wire targets ahead of Week 6. But proceed with some caution. First, Toney was thrust into the lineup after Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard have been sidelined with hamstring injuries. Toney barely saw the field when Slayton and Shepard were active and both could be back as soon as this week. Secondly, New York could be without QB Daniel Jones after Jones suffered a scary concussion. One thing that works in Toney’s favor is that Kenny Golladay could be sidelined next, so there is a viable path to a permanent role, here. That’s why the FAAB recommendation is aggressive, but not over the top. UPDATE: Toney may have injured his ankle late in Sunday’s loss. It’s not a major injury but it adds a little uncertainty to the rookie’s Week 6 status.

The NFC West is the toughest division in football, with all four teams boasting powerful offenses and being legitimate playoff contenders. Playing on a short-rest week is never ideal, but this battle between the 3-1 Los Angeles Rams and the NFL’s sole remaining unbeaten, the 4-0 Arizona Cardinals, should be an exciting matchup.

This showdown opened at 54.5 points, the second-highest over/under on this Week 5 slate, and has not dipped. We should expect to see plenty of fireworks, which means there’s a lot for fantasy football fans to take in.

Let’s break down what we can expect to see in tonight’s showdown.
