Circa Survivor Report: Week 8
THE DREAM CONTINUES FOR NEARLY 200 ENTRANTS
The two biggest road favorites, the Ravens (-8.5) and Jets (-7) were beaten by the Browns and Patriots, respectively. Those two upsets ended the dreams of winning the biggest prize in Survivor contest history for 13 contestants. The FullTime Fantasy Circa Survivor Report: Week 8 recaps the results from a wild eighth week.
Overall, favorites went 11-4 Straight-up (SU) & 8-7 against the spread (ATS) on the slate. During the last three weeks, favorites have dominated the betting landscape posting marks of 33-11 (SU) (75%) and 27-17 (ATS) (61.4%).
In Week 8, nearly half of the remaining 216 contestants backed the near two-touchdown favorite Broncos to get past the dreadful Panthers. The most-selected choice in the contest delivered a virtual no-sweat 28-14 victory.

Trailing 7-0 at the end of the first quarter, 46.3% of the pool enjoyed a 21-point second-quarter outburst. Denver, which was a target of Respected Money in Las Vegas, not only covered the 11.5-point spread but also helped 99 entrants stay alive for a shot at the life-changing prize.
Detroit was the second-most selected team as 52 entries selected the red-hot Lions to beat the one-win Titans.

Behind three touchdown passes by Jared Goff, the Lions won their fifth consecutive game blowing out Tennessee 52-14. The Lions, who have outscored their opponents 192-94 during the winning streak, have not missed a step on defense since losing star DE Aidan Hutchinson for the season in Week 6. Detroit has quietly surrendered the second-fewest points (134) of any team in the NFC.
While 88.4% of the remaining entrants were able to advance, 25 contestants were eliminated when the Ravens, Jets, Dolphins, Bengals, and Vikings all lost.
After eight weeks, only 191 of the starting 14,266 entries remain alive.

The Circa Survivor contest is a grueling contest that forces entrants to pick one winner every week, with no spread with one pivotal caveat. Entrants CAN NOT use the same team more than once during the season.
In the quest for the biggest Survivor prize in history ($14,266,000), contestants in Week 9 will likely be heavily backing: Kansas City (-9) vs Tampa Bay, Baltimore (-8.5) vs Denver, Cincinnati (-8) vs Las Vegas, Philadelphia (-7) vs Jacksonville and Minnesota (-7) vs Indianapolis.
From a betting perspective, favorites hold a sizable 80-41 SU (66.1%) and 61-57-3 ATS (54.5%) edge. Road teams hold a slim 60-59 SU (50.4%) advantage (four international games) while more importantly own a profitable 65-51-3 ATS (54.6%) mark.
