Finding value in drafts is one of the keys to winning a Fantasy Football championship. While developing a good base of stud players early is key, getting undervalued players late can make a huge difference. In the Fantasy Football World Championships, it’s even more important to find late-round steals due to the 11-man starting lineup. Here are five undervalued wide receivers.
5 Undervalued Wide Receivers
Curtis Samuel, Carolina Panthers
Samuel is a dynamic player and is drawing rave reviews in training camp. Samuel missed the first month of the season last year due to a medical procedure to fix an irregular heartbeat. Samuel didn’t play a big role when he returned, but from Week 12 on he began to play more than half the snaps. He provided a glimpse of what he could do late in the season last year in the final five games with 40 targets, catching 20 passes for 298 yards with a touchdown. Devin Funchess is gone and Samuel will play a big role in the offense.

Dede Westbook, Jacksonville Jaguars
Westbrook enters his third season in the NFL and gets an upgrade in quarterback going from Blake Bortles to Nick Foles, who excels in the intermediate part of the field and that’s where Westbrook excels. He led the team last season with 101 targets, including 13 red zone targets and finished with 66 catches for 717 yards and five touchdowns. Almost 50 percent of the targets from last season with Jacksonville are no longer there, which could lead to more targets for Westbrook.
Michael Gallup, Dallas Cowboys
Gallup came on strong to finish his rookie year. He reached double-digit points in three of his final five games. In the playoffs, he scored a touchdown against the Seahawks and had six catches for 119 yards against the Rams. Gallup is a big-play threat with ten of his 33 catches went for 20-plus yards. There were several plays where Gallup was open deep and Dak Prescott couldn’t connect with him. Some might believe that Amari Cooper hurts Gallup, but he saw more targets when Cooper came to Dallas as the offense got better. Gallup averaged 3.1 targets in seven games without Cooper and 5.1 in nine games with Cooper.
Anthony Miller, Chicago Bears
Miller injured his left shoulder in Week 3 of the regular season and played through it the rest of the way. It affected the way he played and he still found a way to score seven touchdowns. Miller said he was basically playing with one arm. Miller had shoulder surgery and is expected to be ready for the start of the season. Allen Robinson is the No. 1 wide receiver in the offense, but there’s room for Miller to be relevant. Miller is strong and runs good routes. Since he only had 33 catches for 423 targets on 54 targets last season, he’s falling in drafts. There’s big upside here.
Donte Moncrief, Pittsburgh Steelers
There are a lot of targets up for grab in the Steelers offense with Antonio Brown gone. Moncrief leaves a bad situation in Jacksonville for a great one in Pittsburgh. The Steelers led the NFL in pass attempts last season and even if they pass less, there’s opportunity here for Moncrief. They also run a lot of three-wide receiver sets. Moncrief is 6-foot-2 and 221 pounds and can be a good red zone target.
