Mike Williams

In a game like football, that embraces speed and hits, injuries are inevitable. It’s unfortunate, but the hope is that no player suffers any debilitating ailment. Fantasy Football Injury Rundown: Week 4

Mike Williams (WR) Los Angeles Chargers – The biggest injury to emerge from Week 3 was word that Williams tore his ACL. His 2023 campaign is over. This will mean a larger role for Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston. Also, Keenan Allen is the best bet to lead the league in targets.

David Montgomery (RB) Detroit Lions – Good news out of Detroit. RB David Montgomery is trending toward being active on Thursday. Missing only one game would be great news for Montgomery. However, it would take some touches away from Jahmyr Gibbs.

Saquon Barkley (RB) New York Giants – Barkley practiced in a limited capacity Tuesday. It was announced last week that he was suffering from a high-ankle sprain. That’s concerning news. However, Barkley is a fast healer. Also, the Giants have an additional day since their Week 4 game is on Monday. Of course, this isn’t great news from a fantasy perspective as a late-game scratch would leave fantasy managers with no recourse. Unless it’s announced for certain, plan on finding another alternative to Barkley for at least one more week.

Deebo Samuel (WR) San Francisco 49ers – Samuel is dealing with a rib injury. However, X-rays were negative. We should know more about his Week 4 status in the coming days and will update accordingly. For now, there isn’t a lot of concern.

Christian Watson (WR) Green Bay Packers – A hamstring injury has kept Watson out of Green Bay’s first three games. However, things are looking good for Week 4. The Packers plan on Thursday. And the early talk is that Watson will make his 2023 debut. Also, we will know well in advance if Watson will be active. I’ll have an update in the FullTime Fantasy Discord before kickoff.

Patrick Mahomes (QB) Kansas City Chiefs – Superstar QB Pat Mahomes had his right ankle rolled up. Mahomes had a noticeable limp. However, he was able to finish the game without issue. We view this as a non-factor.

Jaylen Waddle (WR) Miami Dolphins – Waddle missed Miami’s historic Week 3 win with a head injury.  Waddle has not been cleared but the team remains optimistic that he will return before Sunday’s game in Buffalo.

Aaron Jones (RB) Green Bay Packers – Green Bay is also expected to have Aaron Jones back in the lineup after a one-week absence. Jones tweaked his hamstring in Week 2 but was close to playing Sunday.

Anthony Richardson (QB) Indianapolis Colts – Richardson remains in the league’s concussion protocol. Shane Steichen announced Richardson will resume the starting job once he is cleared. The Colts host the LA Rams on Sunday.

Tee Higgins (WR) Cincinnati Bengals – Higgins had a rough night that culminated in him exiting in the third quarter with cramps. However, the injury isn’t a concern. He’ll look to get back on track this week against Tennessee’s 28th-ranked secondary.

Derek Carr (QB) New Orleans Saints – Carr is week to week with a sprained AC joint. Expect Jameis Winston to start Week 4 against his former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jimmy Garoppolo (QB) Las Vegas Raiders – Garoppolo entered the NFL’s concussion protocol following Las Vegas’ Week 3 loss.

Boston Scott (RB) Philadephia Eagles – Philly’s No. 3 back missed Monday with a concussion. Scott will have to progress through the league’s protocol before he can return to action.

Irv Smith (TE) Cincinnati Bengals – Smith missed Week 3 via the dreaded hamstring injury. We will have more updates in Discord as Week 4 progresses.

River Cracraft (WR) Miami Dolphins – A shoulder injury will sideline Cracraft for multiple weeks.

Quez Watkins (WR) Philadelphia Eagles – Watkins missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury. Olamide Zaccheaus filled in as WR3. Neither Philadelphia ancillary wideout is on the fantasy radar.

Tylan Wallace (WR) Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens placed Wallace (hamstring) on IR. The earliest he can return is Week 8.
