With a full Thursday slate, many people might have missed some of the news and notes from a wild Week 12. Here is an update catching you up on all the fantay-relevant reports you’ll need for Sunday.

Quarterbacks

Despite not practicing the entire week due to a toe injury, Aaron Rodgers will start for the Green Bay Packers Week 12… Justin Fields did not play for the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving and an MRI has shown multiple cracked ribs. The hope is still that he can return Week 13… Jared Goff was able to return for the Detroit Lions on Thursday and did not suffer any setbacks… The New York Jets placed both Joe Flacco and Mike White on the reserve/Covid list this week. The team will be forced to start Zach Wilson under center… The New Orleans Saints gave Taysom Hill a four-year extension worth $40 to $95 million dependent on what position he plays.

Running Backs

After a lackluster showing on Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys are considering giving Ezekiel Elliott “time to heal”. Both missing games and seeing a decreased role are options… Elijah Mitchell will be a game-time call for the San Francisco 49ers this week and seems to be trending in the right direction… Jeremy McNichols will be forced to sit this week out for the Tennessee Titans due to a concussion. The team also waived Adrian Peterson… After somewhat of a breakout in Week 11 for the Atlanta Falcons, Qadree Ollison will be forced to sit out this week due to an illness. Cordarrelle Patterson has practiced in a limited capacity this week and is trending in the right direction for Sunday’s game… Aaron Jones is trending towards being a true game-time decision after getting in limited practices this week… D’Andre Swift was forced out of Thursday’s game and has been diagnosed with a sprained shoulder. He is considered day-to-day… The Cleveland Browns have activated Kareem Hunt off of injured reserve and he is expected to play on Sunday Night Football… The Philadelphia Eagles have ruled out Jodan Howard this week… The Buffalo Bills made Zack Moss a healthy scratch on Thursday night… Michael Carter will miss multiple weeks with an ankle sprain… Rashaad Penny is on the wrong side of questionable for the Seattle Seahawks Monday night matchup… The Houston Texans waived Phillip Lindsay this week and the Miami Dolphins claimed him.

Wide Receivers

After being forced to sit out the Baltimore Ravens’ Week 11 with quad injury, Marquise Brown despite being listed as questionable is trending in the right direction to return Week 12… The New York Giants have ruled out Sterling Shepard this week and Kadarius Toney is also listed as doubtful… A.J. Brown has been ruled out for Week 12 with a chest injury… Curtis Samuel is once again questionable for the Washington Football Team this week after getting in two limited practices… Antonio Brown will miss another game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. The team has activated Scotty Miller from IR… Deonte Harris is appealing his three-game suspension handed down to him for a DUI charge… Jamal Agnew injured his hip last week and will miss the rest of the season. Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer has hinted Laviska Shenault could slide into his role now… Chase Claypool is playing through a bad case of turf toe for the Pittsburgh Steelers… DeVante Parker is not yet ready to come off of IR… Calvin Ridley is now eligible to return off the reserve/NFI list, but there is no reason to believe a return is imminent… Courtland Sutton inked a four-year $60.8 million extension with the Denver Broncos this week… Amari Cooper missed Thursday’s game due to concussion protocols and Ceedee Lamb missed due to concussion protocols… The Cleveland Browns have ruled out Anthony Schwartz due to a concussion. Donovan Peoples-Jones is also questionable for this week’s game… Nico Collins is questionable for Week 12… Corey Davis will likely be a game-time call Week 12… Allen Lazard is questionable this week.

Tight Ends

Darren Waller injured his knee on Thursday but avoided disaster for the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he is expected to miss some time… The New England Patriots have listed both Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith as questionable this week. Both are trending towards playing with Smith being the one more likely to miss the game… Logan Thomas is expected to return this week with Ricky Seals-Jones expected to miss another game… James O’Shaughnessy will make his long-awaited return for Jacksonville this week… Adam Trautman has been placed on IR and will miss 4-6 weeks due to a knee injury… Blake Jarwin, who is already on IR, has been placed on the reserve/Covid list… Adam Shaheen has been ruled out for Week 12… Kyle Rudolph is doubtful for Week 12… Eric Ebron has been placed on IR and his season is over.

Defensive Backs

Tre’Davious White (CB) Buffalo Bills

White was forced out of the game Thursday night with a knee injury. We do not yet have a diagnosis and we don’t like to speculate. However, gauging by the reaction of the player during the game and the team after this seems likely to be a serious injury. If White was to miss anytime it’s about as big a blow as one of the league’s top pass defenses could take. This situation needs to be monitored as the Bills take on the Pats next Sunday. His absence would be a big boost to all opposing wideouts.

Darius Slay (CB) Philadelphia Eagles

Slay has resumed practicing and appears to be on his way to clearing the concussion protocol before Sunday’s NFC East showdown with the Giants. His availability is a huge boost for the Eagles and a big hit to the Giants’ top receiving option whoever that may be. With all the injuries in their WR corps, it looks like Kenny Golladay may be filling that role this week.

Minkah Fitzpatrick (CB) Pittsburgh Steelers

After being forced to sit out last week, Minkah has been activated from the reserve/Covid list and will play this week against the Bengals. It’s hard to argue the team doesn’t need them after their usually stout defense was picked apart by the Chargers last week. Fitzpatrick will make everyone’s life tougher in the Cincy passing attack.

Jaycee Horn (CB) Carolina Panthers

Horn has been sidelined with a broken foot since Week 3 and the rookie looked great to start the season. Due to his looming absence, the Panthers went and acquired Stephon Gilmore. Horn was back at practice and his return is now imminent. Probably not this week, but likely next. His presence will make this secondary scary for all opposing receivers from the WR1 to WR3.

Carlton Davis (CB) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Davis was placed on injured reserve after injuring his quad Week 4 and was back at practice this week. He is not expected to return this week, but in Week 13 he should be out there barring any setbacks. He will be a big boost to this secondary who has struggled at times. Especially now that Richard Sherman is out. This is a hit for opposing WR1s once he returns.

Marshon Lattimore (CB) New Orleans Saints

Still one of the league’s toughest corners to face off against, Lattimore plead guilty to misdemeanor gun charges this past week. While he did play on Thanksgiving it’s unclear if he will face a suspension this season. If he does it’s a massive boost for any WR1 the team faces while he’s out. The Saints play the Cowboys next Thursday.

Tre Brown (DB) Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks lost their fourth-round pick to a knee injury this past week and Brown will not return this season. This is another blow to a defense that already struggles to stop anybody. Seattle takes on the Washington Football Team on Monday Night Football this week in what was already going to be a pass-happy free-for-all. This injury just makes it that much easier.

Sean Murphy-Bunting (DB) Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Murphy-Bunting, who has been out since Week 1 with an elbow injury, has been activated from the injured reserve. This is a huge boost for the Bucs secondary especially with Carlton Davis returning soon too. The league and opposing receivers should be scared as this defense may be returning to championship form as they get healthy after early-season injuries.
