Second day of the NBA season with 11 games. This calls for a value article to help fit in some of the top/higher priced plays on the slate. The players listed in this area will be 5K and under priced for DK.
POINT GUARD
Darius Garland
Looks like Garland will get the start for the Cavs tonight. Coach stated that he wants Garland to take charge of the team as a leader. He could be in line for solid minutes tonight and faces DJ Augastin who is a mediocre defender at best. Played well in preseason and we should see a solid game from the rookie.
TJ McConnell is listed at 3.1K and played well this pre-season. McConnell does it all when he is on the court, so if he gets 10-15 minutes tonight he will easily pay off his salary. Brogdon will be starting and Holiday will get some playing time, but we should still see McConnell in the mix as well. Risky play with high upside at his price.
SHOOTING GUARD
Gary Harris
Harris picked up in preseason right where he left off last year. Kid can score and grab a few boards. Last year in the playoffs Harris averaged right around 28 DK FPs.
Also consider: Luke Kennard is dirt cheap and loves to shoot. With Griffin off the floor tonight the Pistons will need help on the scoring side. Insert Kennard off the bench to get them going.
SMALL FORWARD
Harrison Barnes
Barnes will be starting for the Kings tonight and averaged over 30 minutes a game. This is a good time to take advantage of the prices as they will be a decent amount that are priced incorrectly. Barnes gets a very good matchup vs the Suns who also run at a fast pace. 25 FPs is value and I can see him dropping 30+ FPs in this matchup.
Also consider: Royce O’Neale- starting and only 3.3 K on DK. Showed solid upside last year. Tauren Prince is also in a good spot and under priced.
**Isaac Bonga will get the start for the Wizards tonight at SF. Kid has size and good playmaking skills. Kid can out up stats in all categories. Dirt cheap and worth a look. Can see him putting up 25+ FPs tonight.
POWER FORWARD
Markieff Morris
The Pistons will start Morris tonight with Blake Griffin out. Morris likes to shoot and is a solid rebounder. He should have no problem hitting value tonight on DK with his 3.6K price tag.
Also consider: Paul Millsap who is under 5k, starting and should play around 30 minutes.
CENTER
Jakob Poetl
Starting the season with a 3.9K price tag and listed as a starter. He is a solid scorer and a good rebounder who adds in a block or two a game. Nice matchup against the Knicks tonight and should pay off his price tag.
Also consider: Daniel Thies– should see solid minutes tonight and when he gets minutes Thies produces. Still remember starting him last year and he put up 50+ FPs as a starter. High upside for his 3.3K price tag.
