Content schedule update:

This article covers the 4PM slates on both sites which is SIX games.  SLATE SYNCHRONICITY!!!

Rob Geriak is filling in for me on tonights slate.  I like Houston and Junis.   This is where you roll your eyes and say Thank God Rob is giving us un-biased advice.

WEATHER:

All Early games play, but the Cardinals and Rangers likely have a delay before their game gets underway in Texas.

One of these days Aaron Nola is gonna put it all together and trust his shit and throw a gem.  Just throwing that out there, but I don’t see that being today.

Walker Buehler … The gap between Walker and Boyd (#2) isn’t as large as one would think but that kinda just speaks to my temptation to use Boyd today.  But Walker is an ace going up against a team who strikes out almost 10 times per game at home.  Walker should get 7 of those through 6-7 innings today and has a good offense behind him against Tyler “cant get lefties out” Mahle.

Matt Boyd … Simply put, Boyd is nothing more than a direct pivot off Walker Buehler on FanDuel.  He is only $300 less but will certainly be much lower owned than Buehler in my mind because the Tigers are underdogs and Oakland “appears” hot to everyone on the surface.  But Boyd at home is a very dangerous pitcher to pick on and he can get plenty of swinging strikes against the Athletics today.  I’d give him a ton of consideration today in single entry tournaments.

John Means … Means is an interesting case study.  He’s got some decent history lately of being to pitch past the 5th inning mostly because nobody takes pitches against him.  The reason they don’t take pitches against him is because everything looks juicy coming right down the middle.  Cleveland’s a bad team and a bad offense.  Let’s call them what they are.

PHILLIES

Philly is gonna murder Antonio Senzatela today in my mind.  The Bryce Harper double dong game is coming and he gets one today before 2 tomorrow.  JT Realmuto and Rhys Hoskins should be in a Phillies stack as well today as Senzatela usually gets hit hard by right handers and in the case of Rhys that’s right into his wheel house.

DODGERS

Tyler Mahle has given up 20 HR in 75 IP in his career vs left handed batters.  They have a .411 wOBA and a .304 batting avg against him for you old school stat folks.  His ERA at home is almost 5.  It’s a day game and the Dodgers have plenty of left handed bats who will give him fits today.  I wouldn’t start with Dodgers in your lineup, I would find what other teams you want to build off of and then fill in with the Dodgers afterwards.
