Waiver Wire Wednesday

Ryan Fitzpatrick—Can Fitzmagic continue his torrid start? Will he lose his job once Jameis Winston is eligible to return? Yes, there are questions, but right now he is the hottest QB in the league and the Steelers defense just let up six TDs to Patrick Mahomes last week. Ride Fitz so long as he stays hot.

Andy Dalton—With Joe Mixon out for 2-4 weeks and Gio Bernard not built to carry the ball more than 15 times a game, Dalton should have to throw more and could be a sneaky source of production for Fantasy owners.

Blake Bortles—Bortles seems to play better when Leonard Fournette is not around. With Fournette still dealing with a sore hamstring, the Jaguars will rely more on Bortles in the coming weeks making him a nice short-term pickup. If he can continue playing at this high level, he might be worth holding onto all season.

Derek Carr—Carr seems to have mastered Jon Gruden’s complicated offense, but the Raiders are still a train wreck franchise which might not win many games in 2018. I expect that there will be a lot of garbage time in future games, making Carr way more valuable in Fantasy than reality.

Sam Darnold—What I love about Darnold is that he is getting all of his receivers involved in the offense, something which rarely happens with rookie QBs. The Jets will be playing from behind most weeks, so it seems like Darnold could be a sneaky source of production. I am not sure I love his matchup in Week 3 on Thursday night vs. Cleveland, but Week 4 and beyond he is well worth rostering.

Josh Allen—Allen played pretty well against the Chargers in his first NFL start. The problem is that his OL is a mess and he has no real weapons to throw to. Moreover, RB LeSean McCoy is injured and might miss Week 3. Keep Allen on your dynasty radar. With some weapons around him, he might turn into a decent QB.
