PITCHING

Mike Clevinger … If you’re paying up for both pitchers today I would recommend Hill+Clevinger and not Folty vs the Braves.  Both Hill and Clevinger are gonna get 20 DK points tonight.

Image result for oh dear animated gifRich Hill … I am going to go ahead and bite the bullet here and roster Rich Hill tonight.  Sub 10k for him against the Padres at home is a spot where we should expect 2x and pray he doesn’t turn into the blister Hill tonight.  Injury history is really the biggest deterrent off of him but there’s no signs of any issues potentially tonight and this is a bad Padres team coming out of Coors and in a stadium we can pick on them in.  He is much more viable in cash games than tournaments though because he’s not someone who has extreme upside.

Gio Gonzalez … This is a bad vs bad play.  Gio has finally died as I expected in his last two starts but he does get to face a bad team vs LHP in the Mets.  They’re in the bottom 5 of the league in every major category vs LHP as I noted yesterday when Bum shut them down and Gio’s got fantastic history pitching in CitiField having won 5 straight starts there.  With Vargas on the other side he could be in line again for another win tonight and actually wind up as one of the best pt/$ plays on the slate.

Drew Hutchinson … The Giants have been bad lately, trust me, we used them a little too much last weekend in Cincinnati and now a trip back across the country and returning home is not a spot where I expect them to suddenly turn it on.  As Hutchinson has been worked up as a starter lately he’s been able to throw more and more pitches, but given that he has to hit and will likely be PH for in his second AB do not expect him to earn a quality start or Go beyond 2x tonight on DK.  He’s mostly just a salary and pt/$ play.

TARGET OFFENSES

OAKLAND … Too much power in this offense in Target Field to not think they will hit a couple more HR tonight.  Lowrie and Davis did it last night and well Davis is doing it every single night these days.  Look at Chapman and Piscotty as guys to focus on today.

CLEVELAND … They won’t be as popular as they should be going into Kauffman stadium where they own the Royals due to Coors Field in 80+ degree temps.  But I really like the Tribe tonight — specifically Edwin-Melky Cabrera.

MILWAUKEE … If the roof is closed here then I love both sides of this game.  The Brewers remain at home after a homestand with the Reds and I expect them to pummel Pittsburgh this weekend.   My gut says that the new kids on the block show up tonight as Moustakas, Schoop and Yelich lead the way.

COORS … Good weather in Coors and the Cardinals bring their HR power bats into Coors in a spot where I do expect to see some offense here, but this is one of those random acts of coors games where no player in paticular stands out given their price and match-up.  I would fill in here after locking in 3-4 core plays elsewhere.

SNEAKY OFFENSE

PHILADELPHIA … Rhys, Santana, Ramos … Borucki is not a FB guy but he’s also not gonna last long.  I am not eating the cheese in attacking the Phils and I think they come out on fire tonight.

SEATTLE … Jean Segura might be in the lineup tonight and if so, that’s a nice return to Chase Field narrative.  He was fantastic there when he played with Arizona and should do fantastic again tonight, the ballpark caters to him very well.  Pair him with Cano and Haniger.

POSITIONAL TARGETS

CATCHER

There are mostly higher priced catchers grading out tonight but outside of be loving Ramos in Toronto I don’t have a huge reason that you have to pay up here.  So ride these guys if you have the cash but otherwise punt with the best option from your core teams.

  1. Wilson Ramos … Coming back off injury but in a ballpark and vs a LHP he should crush.
  2. Elias Diaz … Hits LHP well and if the roof is closed here I like this game for offense.
  3. Yadi Molina … Coors Boost for someone who is already one of the better catchers.

FIRST BASE

  1. Jose Martinez … My favorite Coors bat.
  2. Edwin Encarnacion … Rejuvenated Edwin hot streak.
  3. Jesus Aguilar
  4. Frederick Freeman

SECOND BASE

  1. Jonathan Schoop … Streaky hitter who I believe is turning it back on
  2. Robinson Cano
  3. Jose Altuve
  4. Daniel Descalso

THIRD BASE

Love Taco’s tonight but do not overlook Turner and those Dodgers who have killed Clayton Richard in the past.

  1. Mike Moustakas
  2. Justin Turner
  3. Miguel Sano
  4. Matt Chapman

SHORTSTOP

Segura and Correa my favorite plays, but Rondon for his $ is a great play if he is back in the lineup.  Tons of power.

  1. Jean Segura
  2. Jose Rondon
  3. Carlos Correa
  4. Adeiny Hechavarria

OUTFIELD – Tier 1

  1. Rhys Hoskins
  2. Khris Davis … He and Acuna are almost always in play every day but Davis remains cheaper.
  3. Christian Yelich
  4. Starling Marte
  5. Mitch Haniger … Pair with Segura

OUTFIELD – Tier 2

  1. Matt Kemp
  2. Daniel Palka
  3. Adam Jones
  4. Michael Brantley
  5. Brett Gardner

OUTFIELD – Tier 3

  1. Juan Soto … He just missed two oppo field HR yesterday
  2. Trey Mancini
  3. Michael A. Taylor
