Got time to do my analysis for the Main Slate. Short, but figured I’d post since I am doing it and I prefer to play off doing analysis this way….
WEATHER
I don’t see any issues and it’s up to 90 in Arizona. They typically will open the roof late on these Saturday evening games as they start earlier than the weeknight ones out there. So don’t panic if the first couple of innings are low scoring. It will open up. Literally…..
TOP ARMS
Yu Darvish … It’s Yu and nothing else for me tonight. I think Yu is gonna have a great year this year in Chicago because they won’t pitch him too deep into games, and he gets a full season against the NL and tonight the Cubs are gonna win this game easily. Take Darvish on FanDuel and DK and move on. I have had a hard time avoiding some of the disasters with pitchers this year, but I got no issues going 100% Darvish tonight.
SECOND TIER (SP2)
Brent Suter … Since Yu is 12k on DK, we gotta go down a little bit on SP2 choices tonight. Suter pitched pretty good at times last year when he came up and I think lefties will do alright against the Padres lineup this year. He won’t go deep so don’t even bother with him on FD, but at $5600 on DK he has a great shot to win and get 2x.
Derek Holland … The Dodgers are the worst hitting team over the first two games of the season. Sure, small sample size but at home they’ve gotten blanked by Blach and Cueto.
Brandon McCarthy … You seem shocked? You should be. I wrote up how Brandon McCarthy is going to get his brains bashed in this year pitching in Atlanta. He will have one good start. Tonight is that night.
STACKS
THE ROOF … As of now, the roof will be open to start the game. But Greinke is on the hill and he likes it closed to start things off. Either way, this is by far and away the best game of the night (again) but should see some more ownership after last night. Nobody will attack Greinke. That’s fucking stupid. He has diminished velo and has always struggled a) early in Chase field and b) against the Rockies.
Stack Colorado and Get Goldschmidt from Arizona.
BRAVES … They win and they romp Vinnie Bullpen Velasquez tonight. Albies-Freeman combo wins it all. Maybe some Ender Inciarte as well. I like Odubell Herrera tonight for the Phils.
ORIOLES … They profile fantastic against Gibson. Gibson has some gems in his bag of tricks but the Orioles are NOT the type of team his stuff works against. Jones and Machado along with Colby Rasums.
