Week 2 NFL Player Props

Week 1 is in the books and it’s that time of week to start pinpointing the best prop bets to exploit heading into Sunday’s slate of Week 2 action. Remember to always odds shop at your different sportsbooks to find the best value for these props. With that in mind, let’s get down to business and find FullTime Fantasy‘s best Week 2 NFL Player Props!

Justin Herbert OVER 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-160)

Last Sunday, despite putting up 34 points, Herbert only managed to throw a single touchdown pass in the Chargers’ high-scoring loss to the Miami Dolphins. However, that was largely due to the fact that Miami struggled to contain the run as Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley combined for over 200 yards on the ground.

This week, the Chargers will employ a much different game plan against a Tennessee Titans defense that ranked first in rushing yards and yards per carry but ranked last in the NFL in passing yards allowed. That trend appears to be continuing in 2023 as the Titans didn’t do much to stop Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints’ passing attack in Week 1. Jamaal Williams only tallied 45 rushing yards but Carr threw the ball for 300+ yards.

With all of his weapons healthy in Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Quentin Johnston, Gerald Everett, and perhaps the best pass-catching running back in the NFL outside of Christian McCaffrey in Ekeler, expect Herbert to let it fly in Week 2 after a disappointing loss in the season opener. Herbert will find a way to get the ball in the end zone at least twice…

Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 2

We’re only one week into the 2023 season and there is already plenty of turmoil. It isn’t time to hit the panic button quite yet. However, using FullTimes Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 2 to beef up your roster is always a good idea.

Scoring was down across the league in Week 1. There were also plenty of injuries to account for. While blowing your entire FAAB budget after one week is inadvisable, it’s always advisable to be proactive.

Here are the top fantasy football waiver wire: Week 2 players to target—also, a recommended FAAB value to spend.

FAAB denotes Free Agent Acquisition Budget

Kenneth Gainwell (RB) Philadelphia Eagles (25% FAAB) – Rashaad Penny was a healthy scratch. D’Andre Swift only logged two touches. For now, this is Kenny Gainwell’s backfield. We saw that play out in preseason and that’s how the regular season opened. However, Gainwell is rostered in about half of the fantasy leagues. Where he’s available, view Gainwell as the top waive priority this week as an RB2 in an elite offense.

Puka Nacua (WR) Los Angeles Rams (20% FAAB) – Cooper who? Fifth-round rookie wideout Puka Nacua drew a lot of hype this summer. And that came to fruition in Week 1. Nacua caught 10-of-15 targets for 119 yards in the Rams’ upset win. Nacua did a phenomenal Cooper Kupp impression, making plays all over the field. Subsequently, he warrants an aggressive FFAB bid as a weekly WR2/3 moving forward. Tutu Atwell (4% FAAB) matched Nacua with 119 receiving yards. However, the Rams are highly unlikely to repeat that kind of volume consistently.

Justice Hill (RB) Baltimore Ravens (20% FAAB) – And just like that, J.K. Dobbins is done for the season. Hill was already projected to be more involved in Baltimore’s new offense. But, those two goal-line touchdown runs were a nice surprise. I expect the Ravens to employ a committee with Hill and Gus Edwards moving forward. However, with his pass-catching ability, Hill should be the more highly coveted add…

Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse, last week’s Thursday tilt set the bar even lower. After two duds in a row, football fans need some offense. Fortunately, our Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 7 offers up an intriguing NFC matchup.

An added element to this game is the ‘must-win’ factor for both squads. At 2-4, this is close to an elimination game for the team that loses.

There are also several key injuries to contend with that make handicapping this game more difficult.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
New Orleans Saints  4  15  7  6  11
Arizona Cardinals  14  16  15  29  22

It is a surprise to see the Saints sporting a top-5 offense at this point. Injuries have hit the team hard, including at quarterback. Every regular starter in the New Orleans offense has missed at least one game. To still mount the league’s No. 4 offense is a testament to what Dennis Allen has done in 2022…

After last week’s Thursday tilt, there’s nowhere to go but up, right? Seemingly, but 1-4 Washington at 2-3 Chicago isn’t exactly a premiere matchup. Still, our Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 6 breaks down the game with all the fantasy, DFS, and sports betting knowledge you’ll need.

This game opened at a lowly 40 points and has dropped to 38. Points will be at a premium in this one. That places extra emphasis on being able to accurately predict this streaming spectacle.

Washington has lost four straight after beating Jacksonville in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Bears have dropped consecutive games and are a mess on offense.

A month ago, the Denver Broncos hosting the Indianapolis Colts would have been a potential playoff preview. Now, we have a matchup between two disappointing teams that are scuffling offensively. Still, that doesn’t mean there are major fantasy ramifications to consider with our Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 5.

Denver’s offense did show some signs of life last week but now has to move forward without star running back Javonte Williams. How will Nathaniel Hackett adjust his already scrutinized play-calling without Williams?

The Colts will also be without their star running back, which certainly won’t help an offense that has struggled and is turning the ball over way too often.

The Broncos are 3.5-point favorites and the over/under stands at 42.5 points.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
Indianapolis Colts  19  10  27  24  32
Denver Broncos  21  18 18 16  30

It’s hard to believe that these are two of the three lowest-scoring teams in football. Indy’s struggles start up front, as the Colts’ offensive line ranks 27th in sack percentage. They haven’t opened up any holes for the ground game and rank 30th in fourth-down conversion.

The Thursday night tilt from last week was as uneventful as we anticipated. Fortunately, things are looking up again with our Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 4 contest between the Bengals and AFC’s last unbeaten squad, the Miami Dolphins.

Uncertainty surrounds Miami as their star quarterback is listed as questionable after an ugly “back” injury he returned from in Week 3.

For the defending AFC champions, they’ll debut their all-white jerseys and helmets but need to figure out how to revamp an offense that enters this game last in yards per play and 20th overall.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
Miami Dolphins  13  4  31  2  8
Cincinnati Bengals  20  14  20  32  10

The Dolphins are no strangers to establishing a potent offense. In 2021, Miami ranked 7th in offensive pace but that has surprisingly fallen off under Mike McDaniel. His club enters Week 4 ranked 28th with just 55.7 offensive plays per game…

After opening 2022 with a pair of high-octane Thursday night games, here are the Steelers and Browns to cool the scoring off. While we may not see a shootout, our Thursday Night Football Preview: Week 3 still thinks there are plenty of fantasy football ramifications in this AFC North rivalry.

Cleveland just blew a fourth-quarter lead to lose to the Jets at home. The Browns will be ripe for revenge but will the short rest situation hurt them?

Meanwhile, the Steelers have looked impotent and dropped a home tilt to New England. Plus, they have to contend with traveling to a hostile environment as underdogs.

Matchup

TEAM OFFENSE PASS RUSH YDS/PLAY POINTS
Pittsburgh Steelers  30  28  26  30  19
Cleveland Browns  9  26  1  10  7

Last season, Matt Canada coached Pittsburgh’s offense and was able to overcome Ben Roethlisberger’s deficiencies to a 9-7-1 record. The 2021 Steelers were only 29th in rushing but managed to finish 15th in passing…
