PITCHING
Anibal Sanchez – he’s been really good this year as a starter and reliever. 14 IP 1.29 era, 14 k’s and only a 16.2% hard contact. His ground ball rate is up to 45% to LHB and 42% to RHB. At almost min price he really doesn’t need to do much other than damage control. He is coming off a hamstring injury, so he may not get a full amount of work but, I do like him to fit expensive bats. (Risk factor 7)
Straily – he’s been great on the road this year with a 1.59 era and a 98.8% LOB average. Last year he did strike out 14 Padres in San Diego as well. In May Straily has a 19.3% k rate while holding hitters to just a .167 average. This is a good spot here for Straily, and at 7K he has upside. (Risk factor 5)
Freeland – The Colorado native is one of my favorite pitchers to use in coors. He owns a 1.40 home era, while teams are hitting just .197 there. He has a nice 24.1% k rate at home, including a 45.5% k rate to lefties there. On top of that, a low 21.2% hard contact as well as a 48% ground ball rate. (Risk factor 5)
Gibson – he has ridiculous home/road splits in terms of average. On the road lefties are hitting just .098, while righties are hitting .141. He also has a pretty significant spike in k rate on the road up to 30.6%. Gibson in the past has usually been a guy to target, but this is actually a decent spot for him today. (Risk factor 5)
STACKS
Boston RHB – Estrada has allowed a .302 avg (.333 on the road) along with a 55.7% flyball rate. Over his past 2 starts he’s allowed 5 ER.
(Bogaerts – JD – Holt – Pedroia)
Minnesota RHB – Duffy has been terrible against RHB giving up a .297 avg and 13 HR. In May alone he’s allowing a 40.5% hard contact and a 47.7% fly ball rate that includes an 21.4% home run rate.
(Dozier – Sano – Escobar – Grossman – Garver)
Oakland RHB – Snell has been so good this year……..at home. On the road his numbers are bad. 4.59 era and 6 R, all to RHB. It is a big ball park, but Oakland does have power from the right side.
(Semien- Lowrie – Pinder – Chapman – Piscotty – Canha)
Tampa – Gossett has struggled against LHB since last year allowing with RHB hitting 15 HR. Tampa has been getting hot over the past week, hitting .259 as a team. They’re going to be under the radar tonight, and still pretty cheap.
(Miller – Cron – Gomez – Arroyo – Wendle – Robertson)
Cincinnati lefties – In a limited at bats, Cincy is 13-28 (.464) as a team, including 3 HR and only 2 k’s. Led by the lefties (10-16) this ownership will be close to 1-2%. Good hitting conditions and a neutral park shift.
(Schebler – Scooter – Votto – Hamilton – Suarez)
