NBA GPP Cheat Sheet

My NBA articles will mostly focus on Fanduel lineup construction since besides center, you need to play two at each position. The players recommended are usually still good plays on DraftKings unless the pricing is drastically different. Also, many players on DraftKings have dual position eligibility or may be listed at a different position. I will try to mention if there is a specific good play on DK based on price or position eligibility. The players listed are in no particular order, as sometimes I am giving choices to help build your lineups at all price points.

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook – Been on fire over his last five games. Four of the five he has 60+ Fanduel points. Looks like he is finally just playing his game and letting the others get used to him. It had seemed the other way around for the most part.

Kyle Lowry – Lowry also has been hot recently. Three of his last four he has 48-54 FD points. The Pacers have allowed some of the most fantasy points to point guards over the last five games. Look for Lowry to remain hot going up against Darren Collison (who I also like).

Goran Dragic – He burned us the other night, picking up two quick fouls and hardly playing in the first half. But he’s in another good spot tonight as Kemba Walker is out for the Hornets. If the Heat actually let Dragic run things and set up the offense, I like him again tonight. He should also have to take on some more usage with no Whiteside.

Value/Punt Plays– Rajon Rando, Tyler Johnson, Ricky Rubio

Shooting Guard

Justin Holiday – The Kings have allowed the most Fanduel points to shooting guards over the last five, and are in the bottom five over the last ten games. This could be one of those games Holiday gets close to his ceiling game.

Klay Thompson – The gang should all be back together gain tonight for the Warriors. I like Thompson sometimes more when Curry and Durant play because it allows him to get open more and in space. Good floor, good ceiling.

Bradley Beal – As long as John Wall remains out, Beal will be a good play. He probably has the highest usage of any shooting guard on the slate. We do need his peripheral stats to go up to start getting his ceiling games and not just scoring points.

Value/Punt Plays – Normal Powell, Garrett Temple, Danny Green

Small Forward

Paul George – He’s been playing well lately, finally starting to mesh well with Westbrook. He has a nice floor, but I like the ceiling he has at only $8500 on Fanduel.

Kyle Anderson – Safe play at his price, 27-37 Fanduel points in his last six games.

Kelly Oubre – As expected, since John Wall has been out he has got a usage bump. His price is starting to creep up as he is now $5000 on Fanduel. However, he can still get to 5-6X at that price or even more.

Value/Punt Plays – Stanley Johnson, Bogan Bogdanovic, Rudy Gay

Power Forward

Taj Gibson – His ceiling isn’t too high on most nights, but he has been consistent. He’s hitting 5 to 6 X almost every night.

LaMarcus Aldridge – After a few subpar games, probably from over use, Aldridge has bounced back the past two scoring 64 and 51 Fanduel points. Memphis isn’t great at guarding the power forward spot, so I like Aldridge tonight.

Aaron Gordon – Finally hit his ceiling game last time out and of course I didn’t roster him. I don’t expect 70 again tonight, but he has picked up his game over the last five scoring 40+ Fanduel points in three of those games.

Value/Punt Plays – Bobby Portis, Serge Ibaka, Markieff Morris

Center

Dwight Howard – Kemba Walker is out for the Hornets, so I think Howard will get an uptick in usage. In addition, Hassan Whiteside is out for Miami, so Howard should dominate down low.

Marcin Gortat – Andre Drummond and the Pistons have allowed quite a bit of points to the center position as of late. Over the last five games they have given up 41 Fanduel points a game. Gortat is pretty much the only show in town for the Wizards. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been producing without John Wall in the lineup. I think he turns it around tonight.

Nikola Vucuvic – Vucuvic has a good floor over the last ten games and tonight could get to his ceiling. We all know how Lou and I like to target centers versus Golden State, although their DVP versus the position is much better this season.

Value/Punt Plays – Gortat, Jonas Valenciunas, Pau Gasol

Will update later if anything changes. Also listen to NBA Live at 5 for more detailed information on who I and JaguarLou like most tonight.
