PITCHING
Newcomb – nice price for him today with a good amount of k upside. Over the past 10 days, Milwaukee has just 1 home run against lefties, while hitting .244. His k rate also touches just under 27% on the road. (Risk factor 5)
German – 6,600 is just too cheap for a guy with a lot of strikeout upside. His problem is homers and hard contact to righties. What will help is guys with power (Smoak Morales Solarte) are all switch hitters so they’ll hit opposite of his weakness. We’re playing some game theory here, so it’s intimidating on paper with his contact struggles, but he should be ok today. (Risk factor 5)Â
Bieber – going up against a hot Oakland team, but I believe in this kids stuff. He’s also pitching at home where he’s been straight nasty with a 0.71 era and striking out batters at almost a 31% clip. (Risk factor 5)Â
Fulmer – he’s been pretty tough on lefties at home with a .186 average, so he strength there plays into this Texas lineup. He tends to go deep into games even when he’s getting hit, and on a slate where the highest price pitcher is Dallas Keuchel I’m ok with Fulmer. (Risk factor 6)Â
STACKS
